Republicans nervously report that Democratic lawyers are hanging around polling places, and they haven't seen that since Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi ran.
An informed Democrat tells us that Nassau Dem Chairman Jay Jacobs has arranged for lawyers active in the party (in something called the "Democratic Lawyers Council") to be at the polls in Nassau and Suffolk for David Mejias in the event his race against Rep. Peter King is close after the vote ends tonight.
Just in: Steven R. Schlesinger, head of the Nassau Democratic Lawyers Council, said there are 35 attorneys out and about at Mejias polling places in both Nassau and Suffolk. No particular problems have been noted. Schlesinger said the impound order on paper ballots could cause significant delay in getting results if the King-Mejias race is particularly close. Same with judicial races in Nassau.
