Andrew Cuomo's campaign has latched onto a New York Post story about Jeanine Pirro's driver with a press release accusing her of the "height of hypocrisy." That's a pretty tall order this election season, but ....
The story says Pirro, who of course has condemned Hevesi, paid $150,000 in overtime over two years on top of $100,000-a-year in salary to her county driver while she was Westchester DA. The driver apparently wrote "no meal" on the overtime forms, whatever that means. Pirro spokesman John Gallagher cited security threats to Pirro, and said comparisons to Hevesi's wife -- who the state police said didn't need security -- were "ridiculous."
Has anybody noticed how very six-figured all these sums are for drivers' salaries? Pataki's guy, Hevesi's guy, Suozzi's guys, Pirro's guy -- do they make the cars fly or something? Where do you get a degree in political driving?
