As the voters went to the polls, George W. spent Election Day on a road swing of Florida, Arkansas and Texas, on behalf of fellow Republicans, while Bill stumped in Rochester, upstate for Democrats including his wife.
In a way, Bill and Hillary have to be pretty jubilant, especially if Democrats do well in Congress and she thumps John Spencer. They must be thinking today could mark the beginning of Chapter 4 -- "The House of Clinton Rises Again" -- in their Hatfield and McCoy saga with the Bushes that has dominated the last 18 years of our collective political life in this country.
