As previously noted in this blog space, Nassau County's own state Sen. Dean Skelos will have to wait his turn to become leader of his house, since the current majority leader, Joe Bruno of Rensselaer County, is seeking and likely to win another two-year term.
That said, the New York Times today has a comprehensive and amusing account of Skelos' standing among his colleagues, who according to reporter Danny Hakim "did just about everything but slaughter a calf in his honor on the Senate floor" as business at the Capitol wound down last month.

Let's also give credit to Ray McGrath, a great congressman and a great guy all around. Nassau could use more pols like him, and at least Dean fills his legacy.
Skelos is pro abortion. He's a rotten bastard
While you're speaking of Ray McGrath, it calls to mind Joe McGrath.
"MR. MCGRAYO, IT'S CHARLIE RAYO!!!!!!"
