Jeanine Pirro's campaign seems to think Cuomo's decision to go up with an ad indicates that her ad last week got a little traction.
And her campaign says all the stuff Cuomo did at HUD doesn't amount to legal experience. "Eliot Spitzer said last night that the role of the attorney general is that of a prosecutor and everyone knows that the only real prosecutor in this race is Jeanine Pirro," says a statement from Pirro spokesman John Gallagher.
Meanwhile, Spitzer's campaign says ... don't make too much out of the statement that Andrew and Eliot are friends. Does the same go for Mark Green, Charlie King, and Sean Patrick Maloney? "Absolutely," says Spitzer press secretary Christine Anderson. Eliot, in other words, has lots and lots of friends. But he draws the line, apparently, at Jeanine.
"She’s a nice woman but Eliot I don't think would consider her a personal friend,” says Anderson.
