Tom's Friday Filler
Given his recent tactics, one might expect (hope) that next week we will see Tom Suozzi show up outside Eliot's apartment building to sing this takeoff on "Oh Canada," which campaign staff "respectfully" had some extra time to compose between negative press releases. It pokes fun of the inclusion of an image of the Canadian side of Niagara Falls in a Spitzer television ad.
O Candidate,
You should know your native land.
And the people’s problems, try to understand.
With flagging hearts our taxes rise,
From lowly Albany.
From far and wide,
O Candidate, your tax plan's not for me.
God keep our state glorious and free.
O Candidate, your tax plan's not for me.
O Candidate, your tax plan's not for me.
And, if we could be so bold as to furthermore humbly submit a new slogan for our fine friend from Riverdale: "Eliot Spitzer—Bringing passion back to Ottawa."

I think Michael Rothfield lacks the integrity to remain a journalist for Newsday. I will never be able to trust that anything Mr. Rothfield writes for Newsday will be fair and unbiased. Someone with an obvious dislike of our county executive and an obvious agenda to put forth should not be allowed to write for Newsday. Or has Newsday forfeited its integrity for the hint of more profit?
Ignore the above "anonymous" posting knocking Michael Rothfeld. It was written by a Suozzi campaign staffer. If they do it again, I will name the person.
Tom should have read Grouch Marx before he stepped in over his head
Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies.
