Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will seek the endorsement of the state Independence Party tomorrow at the minor party’s convention in Albany, party sources say.
Clinton, announcing her interest in the line this afternoon, balked at seeking the party’s backing six years ago because of the involvement then of Lenora Fulani, a party official who was accused of making anti-Semitic remarks. Last September, Fulani and five of her followers were removed from the executive committee of the state party.
A little-known Independence Party candidate, Jeffrey Graham, drew 43,200 votes on the line in the 2000 Senate race where Clinton won with 3.5 million votes.
