Rescue Ink -- don't judge a book by its cover

rescue%20ink.jpg
"Shock and awwww" was the headline for the story I did on tattooed animal lovers Rescue Ink, and ain't it the truth. This band of tough-talking, soft-hearted rescuers say they gets dozens of e-mails about Vivi the missing whippet, even today. Read it and weep -- for joy.

Very cool story. If they can get the job done, more power to them. I know if I saw them coming to my front door, I'd be a little concerned. I wouldn't want to mess with them!

Just goes to show you can't judge people by the cover. What wonderful men.

God bless them all! Ladies, maybe we are going about this the wrong way. Maybe we need to shave our heads and get a lot of tattoos also. If I had some of those muscles though and saw a serious case of animal abuse, I'm afraid I would be tempted to use those muscles. . .

I wonder if they could be hired to track down Vivi? She is so well known by name and photograph that if this group could put their contacts to work something would be sure to turn up!!! VIVI!!!!

This search and rescue group just might be able to do it!!!!

Yep, this group would get your attention. Hard to say no to....
Animal abusers beware....I hope they come for you - and show No Mercy.
Weep for joy is right! Congratulations, Rescue Ink! You are doing good things.
Could you look for Vivi, too???

Hi everyone,
I just love these unsong heroes. A great example of not judging the outside look of people, but make the effort to get to know the inside. They are true advocates for our furry friends.
So what do you think? Could they look for Vivi? They might have some novel ideas.

Hey - Some of these guys have big enough muscles they could carry our little lame Darlene along.

Can't you see that Weenie crew with these guys searching, and one of them carrying Darlene on his shoulders! Now that would be a sight that even Vivi might come out to see. Next thing we knew, all the Weenie gals would have tattoos too and be working with Rescue Ink....

Hi Everyone,

Rescue Ink is going to be on Ellen tomorrow. It should be a great show. I wish I could be home to see it and I am all thumbs when it comes to taping or TIVO.
Any news on our lost pups?

Hey Susan - Sure wish I could see that too. I just love Ellen's show - she is so funny. She should be a hoot with those tattoo men. No TIVO at my house, unfortunately.

I just got an e-mail from Bonnie that a missing baby named Curly (out of town) was rescued. Now, if Vivi would just be next.

I received this email from my friend in Indiana. She asks that you pray for Zeus because your prayers are very powerful.

To all my friends, We need your help here. Our canine officer just recieved some pretty bad news about his partner ZEUS. Zeus is an 8 yr old Shepard who has been diagnosed with possible kidney failure or Lupus they are still running tests. If you all know me at all I think you know I have become very attached to Zeus. I think Sean (his handler) gets sick of me asking for him to come in and get his hair combed or play ball. The Vet has put him on a special diet. If it is the Kidney Failure 'Zeus' may only have a Year left. Please please keep Zeus in your prayers. I sent this to all my canine loving friends because I know with the power of prayer and friends Zeus has a better chance of recovery.
Thank You in advance and I will keep everyone updated and will get a picture of him out soon.

Cindy

Heavenly Father, I would like to offer a prayer of thanksgiving to you for Zeus and his love and service with his handler. But we also ask Your Healing Touch be laid upon this sweet doggie and friend. May you bless him, heal him, and give him comfort (and his handler and friends) during this difficult time.

Thank you Father in advance for the healing we know will take place with Zeus. Amen.

Just watched Rescue Ink on Ellen. These guys are great. I'm glad I copied it to dvd, bacause wouldn't you know my husband called right in the middle. It would not have been cool to tell him I could not talk because I was watching five good looking guys with tatoos. Ellen donated $10,000 worth of Halo dog food, a company she owns and also donated $5,000 cash. It was great.

Ellen is such a good-hearted person. I just love her show and the generous donations she gave to Rescue Ink are sincere and right from the heart. She's what I call, a true Star, like Paul Newman, doing what they can to help people without all the hoopla. I can't wait for the rerun of that show.
Nice to hear about Curly's rescue. One less lost baby. Now if only Vivi will take a liking to men with tatoos.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR BEAUTIFUL PRAYER KATHLEEN!!

Good morning Daddy God. You are so precious and loving to us and how we need you each and every day. We need you with every step we take and every breath we breathe. Daddy God, we thank you for the great healing work you are doing in Pepper. How we thank you for surrounding her with your presence, your love and your mighty power. Sweet Jesus, thank you for taking our sicknesses and bearing our diseases, so that we can be free from all illness. We ask for your precious healing power in Zeus. Your creatures are so filled with your love and they are so faithful to us. How we praise you for your healing mercies and great compassion towards them as you deliver them and bring them into total well being and perfect wholeness. Continue your healing grace and power in Darlene and bring her back stronger than ever as only you can do. You are our perfect Father and how we love and adore you. Bring beloved Vivi into your rescue soon. Bring her to the meeting place you have prepared and bring those you have chosen to her to bring her home safely. How we long for this day of deliverance and joy. Thank you Daddy God, In Jesus's Name we praise you!!!!!

This is from a good friend who is asking for help in searching for a rescue dog who got lost in NJ, if anyone knows anyone in the area who might be able to help it will be much appreciated

Thank you

TeeToo, a two year old terrier mix, who was transported from Griffin, GA to the Jersey Animal Coalition a few weeks ago, RAN AWAY FROM HER ADOPTIVE HOME IN MAPLEWOOD, NEW JERSEY and has been missing for three weeks. TeeToo (the shelter named her "Tillie" but she does not respond to that) was startled and wiggled out of her harness and ran away.

TeeToo is not well socialized, and is unlikely to be caught by hand absent some illness or injury. There have been numerous sightings of TeeToo in the area, and people familiar with the area say that it sounds like she is staying within a 5-8 block area. She has been seen near the Seth Boyden School and at the Quick Check store close to the school. She is probably hiding during the day and coming out at night when things are quiet.

I was TeeToo's foster mom in Georgia, and I am utterly devastated at this turn of events. I feel helpless! Please send this information to everyone you know in New Jersey, especially if they might be willing to go to the Maplewood area to search for TeeToo.

I am attaching a photograph of TeeToo that was taken shortly before she was transported. I am pasting below a photo taken by her adoptive family.

Doreen at the Jersey Animal Coalition is most familiar with all the sightings of TeeToo and is in contact with a woman who has been setting a trap for TeeToo. The JAC number is 973-763-7322.

Please send this to all your New Jersey contacts!
