Emails have been making the rounds complaining about "breedist" requirements at PetSmart "doggie day care" facilities.
Indeed, the company says outright that its PetsHotel and Dog Day Camp programs do not welcome any dogs with a “bully breed” classification, which is defines as "American Pit Bull Terriers, Miniature Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, American Bull Dogs, Bull Terriers or mixed breeds that have the appearance or characteristics of one of these breeds."
It also retains the right to reject individual dogs of any breed.
"I will no longer patronize them in any way -- and have written them to tell them so," wrote one irate cross-poster. "On the website, there is a 'contact us' capability to send an email. I thought a good name for them would be PetStupid, and told them that was what I would call them from now on ... "
Makes good sense to me -- judge each dog individually, as opposed to making sweeping generalizations about breeds. After all, there are some well-socialized, dog-loving pits and pit mixes out there -- just as there are killer Chihuahuas!
Also troubling to me, as someone who is very careful to avoid overvaccination, is that PetSmart requires dogs in these programs to be vaccined for parainfluenza -- a vaccine that the American Animal Hospital Association calls "noncore" (read: unnecessary), in its 2006 canine vaccination guidelines.

I also find it unsettling that a company ( Petsmart ) that is supposed to be kind to animals has to imprison Beta Fish in the tiniest containers so that they can receive a paltry few dollars for them. Of course they "recycle the unsold ones every couple of weeks" as I was told by a store employee and feed them every few days. Whatever that means doesn't sound too animal friendly to me either. They would probably be better off if it means they get flushed in my opinion. Letters from me to Petsmart resulted in a form letter to me telling me how wrong I am to be concerned, so I've stopped shopping there for my 4 cats and 2 dogs.
i for one will never go in there again....
just another strike against the "bully" breeds. it makes me sick and i wonder if there will ever be a day where they're not discriminated against...
Those breeds should be banned, period. They are dangerous and unpredictable. If I took my dog there and saw she was going to be stuck in a room with pitbulls, I'd get her out of there immediately.
Hello anonymous!
Everyone's opinions are welcome here, even if they are ignorant and uninformed. Let us educate you!!!
Sign your name next time, don't be shy!
Mila
Mila you are funny.
Anonymous, I have a feeling you are the type of person who has a small purebred dog. When was the last time you had a pitbull laying in your lap or kissing you? We just adopted a pibull to someone and she gets along with all animals, including goats. Her new boyfriend happens to be a poodle, go figure. So to stereotype because of the breed is pure ignorance and that is why they get bad rap, stop listening to everyone else and go meet one, bet it will change your mind.
I was very afraid of dobermans until my son got one. She was the sweetest thing. I had two of her puppies for over 10 years and they were the best mannered dogs I have ever had. Until you are around one of the breeds getting a bad rap it means nothing. Meet one and it will change your mind.
My aunt and uncle had a doberman when I was growing up that was the sweetest thing. I also knew a guy that was in law enforcement that had a doberman. This dog had had some training as a guard dog and that dog is one I wouldn't have ever messed with. So once again...IT'S NOT THE BREED!
Nope, I have a very large 80lb dog. And there's no way I'd ever let her play with pitbulls. Let's take a look, shall we, of the last 10 dog maulings in the news. Do a google search and check it out. Oh, what a surprise! They're all pitbulls and pitbull mixes!
hey anonymous first let me say hats off to you for being so courageous as to putting your actual name so we know who you are. to me that means you're probably someone we know. you might actually be doing it on purpose to start a fight. whatever the case i don't really care...
secondly, i don't doubt for a minute that your "opinion" as someone generously called it stems entirely from ignorance and that you probably have never met a pitbull. you watch the news and believe all the hype and they're all vicious, and blah blah blah blah...
you're actually sad to me but what you should really do is go out and meet one. even someone with such a feeble and closed mind as you would be amazed at how your feelings change.
until you do, do us all a favor and let it go...
I have met them--my brother-in-law's family has one, and they can't leave it alone in a room with visitors over unless a family member is there, otherwise its starts growling. Yeah, that's a good dog. The 2 others I see regularly being walked in my neighborhood are wearing basket muzzles. But I'm sure they're great dogs.
oh "anonymous" i'm so sorry... you're not ignorant on the breed since you've met 1 of them. you haven't met the other two you just assume they're bad because they have muzzles on... how silly of me to question all your knowledge...
instead what you're ignorant on is that you believe one "bad" dog makes the whole breed bad...
first why don't you inform your whole family that it's not a good idea to leave ANY dog with visitors that the dog doesn't know. in fact i'll go so far to say that it's dumb to do something like that...
and anonymous for all you know, this "bad" dog could be scared and showing it by growling... did you know that? do you know much about dogs in general? i got bit by a dacshund when i was a kid and i didn't do anything to the dog.. so by your intelligent standards - they should be banned too.....
again know what you're talking about before you generalize...
so i guess in your world - all italians are in the mafia, all irish are drunks, all polish are stupid, all jewish are cheap, etc, etc, etc... you get where i'm going... pretty ignorant huh???
oh and i just realized another thing "anonymous"...
about the two "bad" pitbulls your neighbor walks. did you ever ask him why they have muzzles on??? he is your neighbor after all. it's possible they're aggressive... but here's a very big possibility of why they're wearing basket muzzles... the owner might be "extra-cautious" because of people just like you. what i mean is that those dogs could be perfect angels and an ignorant person like you comes along (who believes they're ALL bad), screams out of fear and the dogs bark at you... that's it - thanks to you they go to the pound and are killed... the muzzles protect his dogs from ignorance...
just a thought..
Hey Anonymous,
Check out this website, particularly the section entitled "The Media: A Reliable Source of Information on Dog Attacks?":
http://www.nationalcanineresearchcouncil.com/media1.asp
Breed is not the determining factor of a dog bite. It is "the culmination of past and present events that include: inherited and learned behaviors, genetics, breeding, socialization, function of the dog, physical condition and size of dog, reproductive status of dog, individual temperament, environmental stresses, owner responsibility, victim behavior, victim size and physical condition, timing and misfortune."
(ref. http://www.nationalcanineresearchcouncil.com/media1.asp)
Don't stay in the dark on this issue - enlighten yourself!
Gee, Pitbulls are so bad that my sissy Whippet has one for a girlfriend...kisses, playing, the whole bit.
Monday at the vets at gal came in with a HUGE PItbull! He was the sweetest thing in the world and he fell in love with my female Whippet who already has one love in her life.
I hate the that people who put bad names on breeds they don't know..I also don't much care for people who don't sign their posts....

Hello to all ... I don't like it when people assume that a dog is "dangerous" or shouldn't be around other dogs and people because of their breed. The reality is I would be nervous to be in the inner city and have a pit walking towards me knowing that they are rasied to be aggressive , they are also starved for fighting purposes and given gun powder in their food when they do eat to make them stronger. I have been bit but never by a pit , I was actually bit by a older yellow lab and they wanted to put it to sleep because he bit me, I told them not to do that, let the dog live it's life and just make sure it's being watched when others are around. They get dimensia too in a dog way . I guess I'll get my Organic cat food online instead of petsmart. All I'm saying is that any "dog" can turn on you but so can your best friend or sister. My friend has a pit that I love like crazy and I never fear her. I guess it's just the person...
Well you may or may not know, I posted a while back that I'm having a baby, it's a BOY!! due May 11th I'm excited but nervous too I'm up and at em all the time and I think people are shocked by that I guess it's a good thing but his head is down so it's almost time...I'll keep you updated.
As always I'm keeping the faith for Vivi ... and just wanted to say hello to you guys!
MINNEAPOLIS — Amy Rice feared for her dog's life when a pit bull jumped over a fence into her yard and attacked her pooch. So she took matters into her own mouth.
Rice says she bit the pit bull on the nose Friday after trying to pull the dog's jaws off her Labrador retriever, Ella. The dog had jumped a fence to get into Rice's northeast Minneapolis yard, and Rice says she feared the pit bull would kill Ella.
"I didn't plan it, that's what happened. I broke the skin and had pit bull blood in my mouth," said Rice, 38. "I knew what happened, and I knew that it wasn't good."
The pit bull was quarantined Wednesday by Minneapolis Animal Control officers while rabies tests are being completed. Rice's doctor will determine whether she needs shots for rabies.
"I was sure that my dog was dying in my arms; it was horrible," Rice said.
Ella is recovering with staples and stitches to her head and a crushed ear canal, but she is afraid to go for walks, Rice said.
Hello and Congratulations to you, Chrissy, on your Baby Boy!!
:0) Mila
Wonderful news Chrissy. I'm sure you will enjoy a boy very much.

I think "anonymous" is just someone who likes to inflame people, and judging from the responses, he/she/it did that. We, who are true dog lovers, know in our hearts that good dogs are not breed-specific. Just as you can't judge people by the color of their skin. I live in Michigan, and one of the biggest dog attack stories that came our way, (a few years back) was an 80 year old woman who was mauled by her sheepdog and killed. This woman bred sheepdogs (old english? - the really big grey and white hairy ones), and no one knows for sure if she died, then the dogs "ate" her, clawed at her, etc. The coroners report said the dogs killed her. Another story a few years back concerned two malmutes who killed their owner's 3 year old child. Attacked/mauled it to death, in front of the mother. Granted, these were a few years back, but other breeds do attack humans. How about Chihuahuas? they can attack, but just because of their size, their attack is inefficient (and yes, laughable, except to someone who is afraid of all dogs!). Regardless, if you are an irresponsible owner, it is you, the owner, not the dog, who is responsible for their behavior. If you have a vicious dog (or potentially vicious dog), YOU know it, and it is your responsibility to do something about it. Unfortunately, the dogs that have this proclivity, are usually in the hands of people unfit to own dogs, period. Ban the bad owners, not the breed. And as to postings by "anonymous" - If you don't respond to her/him/it, THAT would really annoy the living daylights out of them. so: DO YOUR BEST! If anonymous posts their stuff again - talk about the weather, or Vivi, or something totally unrelated to their comments. That will stop them effectively. (stepping down off soap box, now!) :) Everyone have a great day, spring is here, don't let the naysayers get you down!

While I could not disagree more with anonymous, and I truly believe that every animal is only as "bad" as the way it is raised by its humans, I was somewhat distressed by something Debbie said in her 4/2/08 post.
I am wondering exactly what type of person owns a small purebred dog? I happen to have a small purebred JRT but I also have a Staffie and a Great Dane mix. What type of person does that make me?
I don't believe in making generalizations about dogs or their owners.
If this mandatory Spay/Neuter spreads and goes through. you all wont have to worry about dog attacks, or any dogs at all for much longer. Hope you all enjoy the final outcome in about 20 years. Which would be just about when the last small dog passes on.
I agree with Michelle also. I have the full range of dogs 30lbs to 130 lbs. love them all equally, and would like an even smaller dog (italian greyhound) to round out the mix! I also have a cat and a bird. *and fish!, lots of fish! Ooooops just realized I was nuts, having all these animals, so I withdraw any and all comments (since nutty people can't be trusted!). Essentially, I think the inflammatory comments posted by anonymous, really just make people say things off of the tops of their heads - - which is why it's better to just ignore and move on.
NYC Condo Residents Living In Fear Of Pit Bull
NEW YORK (CBS) ― Residents of a condo on West 72nd St. in Manhattan say a dangerous dog is allowed to roam free in their building, striking fear in almost everyone it meets.
Neighbors say 'Tyrus,' a female put bull, is allowed alone in the hallway by her owner.
That's when she allegedly terrorizes neighbors, chases tenants, and relieves herself in the halls. One resident says 'Tyrus' attacked her 4-pound Pomeranian named 'Pumpkin' -- nearly killing him.
'Pumpkin' ended up with one hundred stitches, and his owner Elisa Schindler, ended up with a $5,000 veterinarian bill.
"Eventually someone came out of the apartment, not the owner of the dog. He didn't say a word to us, didn't apologize," said Schindler. "He grabbed the dog, left my dog in a puddle of fur and blood and ran back into the apartment and shut the door."
The condo's board is suing the pit bull's owner for $90,000 in damages.
Any news or calls on Sargeant or Vivi?
It's been raining and cold here today. Hope all little babies are warm. My Ginger had to have six teeth pulled yesterday, but she is doing great today. They said she still has plenty of teeth left that are in very good condition. It is so expensive to have a dog's teeth cleaned.
I see there is some more "activity" on the blog. Looking at this from both sides, ANY dog can be dangerous if trained that way.
I look at my Onnie (chow/lab mix) as an example. She was showing quite a bit of aggression. In fact I did not want to say this to my friends on the blog, but I feared possibly having to have her put down if I could not get her trained. I thank each and every one of you who gave me such wonderful advice on training her. Karen, you would not believe how she sits a the back door and waits for her command to go outside now! Even I cannot believe it sometimes.
Onnie is now extremely well-trained and no longer aggressive, except when she needs to be to protective of her family. When I lay my head down at night to sleep, I have no fear for myself or my other animals in the house with Onnie stretched across the foot of my bed. I also now do not fear break-ins at my home as Onnie is on patrol of the entire house now. She is the most incredibly trained animal I have ever owned.
Also, one must remember the woman who had her face replaced was mauled by a lab - her own dog. I have never thought of labs to be anything but gentle giants.
On the other hand, I think what people do fear about pitbulls is the strength in those jaws. If they do bite, they will definitely do more damage possibly than other breeds with those jaws. I have to admit, I give them their distance and respect myself because of this. But once again, it is the owner's responsibility to train their dog against such attacks. Unfortunately, not many will take the time to do this - once again irresponsible owners and not the breed. Isn't that what this whole animal crisis is all about - irresponsible owners.....
This blog has saved many lives of animals, but I will always remember it helped me train my Onnie and give her the forever home she rightfully deserved with lots of love! Not to mention the peace of mind everyone gave me (and direction to my vet) about what was going on with my Tinkerbell that night (her back problems).
Good morning Daddy God. Thank you for your love, care and guidance. How we need your wisdom and light. Please shine your light on Vivi. Cause her to be seen and bring her home safely. Surround her with your angels and guide her with your Holy Spirit. Show her the way to rescue and guide your mighty army forward in her direction. Cause Vivi to come to them without fear. Give her dreams of home and human companionship Daddy. Give her an incessant desire to be with humans and show her the way. We bless her fresh food and pure water that you are providing for her and we bless her warm shelter. Shine your light on her shelter, so your chosen ones will know where to go. Guide them, lead them and protect them as they do your will on this earth. We ask you Daddy God to surround Darlene with your presence, healing and love. Recreate the muscles she needs to do your will and to be your feet and hands in the paths you lead her to. Fill her body with your healing presence and cause her to leap and run again. We thank you for your continuous healing of Pepper, Dante, and Sniffles. Keep your healing grace and love on Kathleen, BJ, Princess Madison and Irene. Daddy God, we look to you and we trust in you and you alone. You are the all powerful and mighty God. The Great Creator of all living beings. We place ourselves under your care, your guidance and direction. Show us the way and show us the steps we need to take to do your will. Bless our work and keep all of us in the palm of your tender, loving and redeeming hands. How we praise you!! Please help people to understand the love of all of your creatures, no matter what the breed and save the horses. Stop the slaughter of your beloved creation. Bring beloved Bowdee home. We do not lose faith Daddy God. We just become stronger in you with each passing day as we stand in your presence and listen to your gentle voice. In Jesus's Name we pray and we praise you!!
Kay - hope little Ginger is well and she will be fine :) my Sambucca had 8 pulled and MY EVIL PIT BULL Luna, has only about 10 teeth left - she didn't like the steel cage outside when she was in the shelter. made lunch of it and had to have her damaged teeth pulled. they're both just peachy - toothless, but happy!!!! HA.
i have to put out an APB on Bobo - apparently, there is a rumor he as been deported... for those of you who are familiar with that drunken clown, keep an eye out :)
oh, PETSMART SUCKS and Lois is a greedy sleezebag!!!!!!
Chrissy - congrats and good luck!!!!!!! are you entertaining naming him JOSE perhaps?????
Good to hear from you Darlene. Ginger is doing great. I guess her teeth had been bothering her a while as she is so much more playful and has more energy now. Wish I could understand dog talk so I would know when they have a problem. Have not seen Jose this way.
Good to see you here Darlene. If Darlene is back.....can Bobo and Jose be far behind?????? Just kidding. :)
It appears that Bo Bo has been deported. Rumors have it that he may be in Canada and is wreaking havoc. I am preparing to go there and bring him back. I have received special papers to bring him back to the states if I promise to take the responsibility of keeping him under control. I have discussed possibly keeping an ankle bracelet on him, so his where abouts will always be known. This may be his last chance for rehabilitation...I will keep you posted on any future developements.
hello Margot, Key and the lovely Miquel :) yes, i stopped in to say hello and see what everyone has been up to. Miquel - just stand at Niagara Falls with a bottle of booze and he'll come running right for ya!!! prehaps contacting the Mounties would be a really bad idea...
hope everyone is well and we'll catch up soon.
Yes, Bobo has been running amuck here in the provinces of Canada. Please Miquel bring that bottle of booze to entice him back across the border. Merci!
I just read this in our local paper. It's from a pastor who had lost his beloved dog after 14 years. One of his parishioners sent it to him. Maybe it will help someone who has recently lost their beloved baby.
I explained to St. Peter,
I'd rather stay here,
Outside the pearly gate.
I won't be a nuisance,
I won't even bark,
I'll be very patient and
wait.
I'll be here, chewing on a
celestial bone,
No matter how long you
may be.
I'd miss you so much, if I
went in alone.
It wouldn't be heaven for
me.
Make me cry Kay. That is beautiful....
Good morning Daddy God. Thank you for your tender mercies and gracious blessings. You have given us so much. Yet we ask for more. Not because we are greedy Lord, but because there are so many who need your help and love. We ask you to bring Vivi home Daddy God. We need her so much. We have fallen in love with Vivi. Some of us have never met her, but she has touched all of our hearts and we so want her to be home where she is warm and loved. Bring her off of the streets and show your rescuers where she is. Give us a sighting and shine your light on her, so she will be found by your chosen ones. Show her how much we love her and show her that she will be taken care of, loved and treated like the queen she is. Remove all fear from her heart, so she will come forward. Lead her by your Holy Spirit and bring your chosen ones to her. We thank you for taking such good care of her. We thank you for providing her food and water and shelter. We thank you for protecting her every step of the way. And we ask you to lead her home, to the love and warmth and care that she so richly deserves. Daddy God, continue to surround Pepper with your healing power. Touch her body with the powerful flow of your never ending love and bring her into your vibrant health and well being. Give her a ravenous appetite as you bring her healing to completion. Continue to heal Darlene's ankle and strengthen her and strengthen her husband as he cares for her. Help her to feel your presence and your love in her heart as she rests with you by her side. Continue to lead your chosen ones in the way they should go. Show them where to put their flyers, where to send their faxes and posters and lead their every step as they search and bring love to those who need your rescue, deliverance, redemption, healing and love. Bring Sargeant home with Vivi and keep all of us in the palm of your hand and cuddle us close to your heart, for we love you so. You are the almighty and one true God always and we look to you Daddy God...In Jesus's Name we praise you!!
Jacque and Darlene...I have tried the bottle of booze. It attracted Bo Bo to the falls where I was able to slip the ankle bracelet on him. However,, his scrawny little foot was able to slip right through. So I decided to chain him to a keg of Bud Light (I knew he would not try to escape from that!) However, my plan backfired because the Keg only attracted Juan and Jose who proceeded to aid Bo Bo in lightening his load and the three of them headed south with the keg. Please, Please be careful because we have no way of knowing where they are headed, however be advised, I have hired a Kentucky Booze Hound to track them and he has already picked up the scent of the Bud Light Keg. So please hope that when the Kentucky Booze Hound catches up with them he howls to let me know and does NOT join them in their escalades. Further updates to follow....
Sorry to hear that he escaped from you Miquel. I hope that the Kentucky Booze Hound is successful in his search for this dredge on society. I'm so grateful that he is out of Canada now.
He was creating quite a stir in some communities up here north of the border. I believe a few people were ready to tar and feather him.
Oh Kay - that was wonderful! Brought tears to my eyes because it's going to be hitting close to home for me in the near future. One of my dogs is 14 and won't be around much longer.
I'm so sorry to say Miquel that rascal Bo Bo and his two cohorts you are trying to catch passed me by on the road today. How do I know it was them? They was squabbling over something in a barrel they had with them. One of them was crying uncontrollably and the others were trying to console him. It appeared that the barrel was empty. Didn't see hide nor hair of that booze hound that you made reference to. Hopefully, he's still on the trail.
Hey - What's all the uproar about Bobo about! Bobo was in Memphis with me last night. We both cried our eyes out and got stinking drunk when those University of Memphis Tigers lost to Kansas in the Final Round of the NCAA playoffs.
Bobo left late last night. Just could not stand to see me crying anymore! Bobo, the Memphis Mob and I were all DEVASTATED to say the least....
Oh, he told me he was heading Roooby's way for some vanilla vodka to ease his pain!
Maybe that was you I saw, Kathleen, alongside the road with Bobo. You two sure were trying to console each other.
Miquel - find that thar Kentucky Booze Hound and send him WEST! He may be trying to get to Rooby's under the cover of darkness. Bobo must be tracked down!!!
Attention:::::Bobo is being tracked and will be dealt with very soon.
Roooby has moved and left no forwarding address so bug off women, uh, Clem and Jacques, you will be punished.
Rooooby's friend...heh...ackkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Heroic Teen Saves Boy From Dog Attack
Posted: April 13, 2008 06:10 PM
A local teenager is being hailed a hero, after saving his 5-year-old neighbor from two attacking dogs.
The News On 6's Jeffrey Smith reports 5-year-old Zach Miller got home from the hospital early Sunday morning. He has about 100 stitches and he'll need plastic surgery on his head and his ear. But it could have been much worse had it not been for the efforts of a 17-year-old neighbor.
They barely knew each other before, now they won't forget each other.
Cody Phillips and little Zach Miller are neighbors joined together by a pit bull attack Saturday afternoon.
"Both the dogs had the little boy. One on each end and they had him up in the air just tearing him apart. And I started screaming," said Cody's mother, Shannon Ash.
Zach was outside playing when he was pulled through a fence by a pit bull and a sharpei.
"I heard a blood-curdling scream. And I went running next door. It was bad. There was blood everywhere," said Ash.
He was dragged more than 20 yards. Then 17-year-old Cody came running out.
"When I was running towards him, I wasn't scared of the dogs at all. I just didn't have time to think about it," said Cody Phillips.
He saw Zach and jumped the fence
"I just had to get him away from the dogs. So I just picked him up," said Phillips.
"He's more than a hero. Cause you hear about dog attacks all the time, and nobody gets involved with it," said Zach's father, Robert Miller.
Zach was taken to the hospital with extensive injuries to his head and legs.
"He was telling us that he didn't want to go to the doctor. And that he wanted his mommy," said Phillips.
"He was a hero by putting his life at risk and saving my son. Because without him and his quick reaction my son would not be here today. And that boy deserves all the glory in the world. He's a hero," said Zach's mother, Dana Miller.
Cody admits he's had a tough time with it
"I wasn't able to sleep last night. I was having some bad dreams," said Phillips.
But with Zach back at home, he says he'll be able to sleep peacefully tonight.
Zach's will celebrate his birthday this Tuesday. He was going to have a party, but now that'll have to be rescheduled.
Cody wasn't invited, but now Zach's parents say the first thing they'll be doing is making an extra invitation.
Good morning Daddy God. You are so good to us and your mercy endures forever. You took such wonderful care of Sniffles and led him to safety. We KNOW you are caring for Vivi too and we KNOW you will bring her safely home. Continue to guide your chosen ones. What a mighty army they are!! Lead and guide them by your Holy Spirit to Vivi. Bring her home Daddy God. Bring her into the loving arms of your chosen ones. She is so precious. We bless the food and water and shelter you are providing for her as you lead her ever closer to home and love. It will be soon for we have strong faith in you. Continue your tremendous healing power in Pepper as you surround her with your presence and love. Keep your anointing of healing in Jackies hands as she touches Pepper each day. We bring Darlene and BJ to you for your perfect healing. Bless Nancy for helping BJ and Darlene's husband for his tender care. Surround them with you healing touch and love. You are the Great Physician and we look to you each day. Hold us in your arms and cuddle all of us close to your heart as we look to you for guidance and victory. In Jesus's Holy Name we praise you!!
When I read these comments, I feel I can substitute gun for Pitbull and I would be talking to Charlton Heston. Come on guys, when there is a preponderance of uncontrolled, lethal attacks by a breed, it is the breed - not the neighbor and certainly not the child that got mauled, and not even the owner, though I have to admit the sanity of the owner does come into question oftentimes. The same can be said about people that have pythons that eat the neighbors dog, of a pet tiger than sups on the neighbors. I would easily advocate getting rid of the pitbulls and the owner, but that would be too cruel. SO, I leave the choice to the owner- is it the dog or you or both?
My pom mix was attacked by a pitbull breaking his leg, while my 8 yr old son was walking him, it took a witness (big man ) to get the dog off our pom mix, while my son watched in horror. This dog ripped through it's fenced yard to attack our dog.
My sister in-law who owned two pitbulls (since 4 weeks old!!!) went our with her 4 little girls to the park, and as they returned they found that one of the dogs had killed the other (who were raised together) she could not believe all the blood, and the fact that the female was always so tender with the other dog and her girls ( 9 mths to 8 yrs of age). She had killed him so viciously. My sister had always kept these two dogs around the children inside the house. What happened to the female to act this way is unk.
