Animal House

Poor Oscar must have really loved Arthur. I truly believe that animals can grieve as well as humans with the loss of a companion. That must have been quite a shock for the owners when they woke the next morning.

Pam A - You are so right. My big kitty Bo Jackson was grieving so hard for Booger after he passed away this past year. When Onnie (my big black dog) came into the picture, Bo completely changed. They are best buddies, and Onnie always stops to give Bo a big nuzzle on her way outside in the morning. I laugh and tell people my senile old kitty thinks Onnie is a great big cat!

Good morning Daddy God. Thank you for your tender care over Vivi and for bringing her closer to rescue each day. We are one day closer to her being found and brought home safely to love and warmth and tender care. Daddy God, please let it be very soon. She needs to be home and we need her to be home too. You are so kind and tender to all of us and to your precious creatures. Bring this beautiful girl home and into the arms of those who dearly love her. What a beautiful story. Here's hoping Oscar and the new kitty have many happy years together. I always believed animals could think and feel everything humans can. I just think they're more humane than the human race.

I had a dog that grieved for another dog I had to put to sleep. He always laid on an old blanket and the other dog just sat by the old blanket and whinned. She really missed her old friend and it was just so sad. It lasted about a week and she finally quit but she was grieving. I agree that animals feel more than humans and they give unconditional love. I just wish we could have them around longer than we do.

hey Pam - got your messages - i think i may be finally "SOBER" thank God. for all who don't know, i broke my ankle Christmas day in PA. (NO, i wasn't bombed - just blind without contacts and tripped over my purse in the pitch black bedroom). i AM pretty much bombed now, thanks to the lovely Vicodin which has become my best friend in the past 3 weeks. Pam - now that i can talk sort of logically, i will give you a call back. Rooooby experienced one of my "flying high calls - just babbling endlessly about nothing in general. my Vivi friends and others through dog rescue have once again, saved my sanity and have gotten me through my latest disaster - and i thank all of them with all i have. MonikeR, Debbie and Colette have seen me at my worst first hand - and those who have been on here for awhile can just use your imagination to figure out what they walked into. HA. i hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a great New Year. here's hoping that all of the lost and abused get home in 2008 - safe and warm. be good and SAFETY FIRST (that's my new motto).

Thank you Michael and Betty for the beautiful prayers. I tried to post to you and the others but it said I was posting too much or something. That didn't happen when the blog first went up. I am doing much better and could feel the healing. Did pretty good my first day back yesterday. The puppies at work are waddling around now and just too cute for words. I brought Freckles home yesterday. Maybe you could post a thank you for me on the blog and explain it won't let me post for now.

I heard in the news that the 3 guys were drunk and taunting the tiger at the San Francisco Zoo. Once again human stupidity cause harm to themselves and resulted in the death of a beautiful tiger. What part of not teasing animals did they not understand? I know the barrier was lower than the regulations, but any animal that is being harrassed mercilessly will get at the person(s) sooner or later.
When I was in Israel years ago, I visited a Zoo that was built like Noah's ark. All species were in pairs and the setting was very natural and the barriers were not that high. Never a problem. The tigers had a moat in their enclosure but it wouldn't have helped since they are good swimmers.
I'm relieved that the animals have been vindicated since any zoo accidents I have read about usually happened due to human error or lack of brains.

Vivi has blessed us with so many Miracles..helpless and hurt animals have been rescued many have been found that have gone lost. Friendships have been made and she has managed to bring so many good kind hearted people together that have help one another in so many ways.

So much good has come out of her sad misfortune, I can't help but ache for her even more reflecting back on all the little Miracles she has made happen for us and so many fur babies. I keep praying her Miracle will come TODAY. God help her in these bitter cold temps if she is still out there. I pray she is safe and we will have closure soon. I think the idea of Feb, 15th approaching is really getting to me.

What you said Rosa is 100 percent true! It sure would be nice to have some closure as you said. I keep lighting candles and saying a prayer for her hoping for that miracle, too.

Pam, I am having a good cry here in Michigan. I think its the combo of this bitter weather and Feb, 15th bieng around the corner. I couldnt help but reflect back on all the special Miracles Vivi has brought to all of us.
Its been a while since we have had a home candle Vigil for our Vivi. Is anyone up to it?? let's say 7:00 pm tonight . WE could all light a candle or go to grateful and reflect on our little Miracle Vivi, and ask that Her Miracle be granted soon.

LEXI THE LAB WHO GOT LOST AROUND THANKSGIVING IN QUEENS WAS FOUND THIS MORNING!!!!!!!! THERE WAS A SIGHTING ON FRIDAY. WE WENT OUT THERE. A TRAP WAS SET ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY MORNING SHE WAS IN IT!! SHE'S ALOT THINNER THAN SHE STARTED BUT GENERALLY IS OK AND VERY HAPPY TO BE OFF THE STREETS!!!! MOMMY IS BESIDE HERSELF WITH JOY AND SO ARE WE... HAPPY DAY TODAY!!!!!!!

Great news on Lexi, I've been posting all over for her. She was probably in same area since Thanksgiving, in back of a farm with woods, we went thru there on Friday looking for her and calling, Trap was set Sat afternoon and the caretaker found her in it early this am, Mom came and identified her and she is now at a vets drinking like crazy and getting some much needed food. Monica and I are going later to maybe get some kisses and photos.

Did anyone else see the newest Pedigree commercial with this precious dog at a shelter and hoping the people will pick him only to be passed by. It was just on this morning and it tears at your heart. I hope this baby has been adopted. I usually change the channel but I was too late this time.

She had gone through alot! I'll keep my eye on the lookout for that new commercial otherwise I'll be a blubbering wreck and I do so hate stuffed up noses. :) Not to mention wondenrig about the poor animals in those commercials besides.
