I spoke with the authorities at the bridge. They said they reviewed the [video] tapes and found nothing to substantiate a sighting. They have the flier up in an employee area.

Stolen Truck w/ dogs on board….Missouri area
Bob Vest was conducting a herding seminar at the Flickerwood facility, near
Cape Girardeau, MO.
The vehicle was stolen Wednesday eve, about 8:30 in the evening.
I believe they said there was 1 BC, and 2 Aussies in the trucks dog crating
area.

Was stolen off the Drury Inn lot, at the Fruitland Jackson exit, exit 105, off

Gail, I've seen this on many dog lists today and on K9 Amber Alert. It's just awful about those poor dogs but only points out that dogs should never be left in a car or truck unattended. This is not the first time something like this has happened to dogs left alone in a vehicle or even being left alone in a hotel room at a show. It happens to children also as in the case of little Maddie.It's senseless when things like this happen that could have been avoided.

Honi, your response was predictable and if "D" hadn't posted on the blog first before calling, doubt we would have ever known of this sighting. How many other sightings have been swept under the rug? I believe in karma and what goes around, comes around...count on it, Honi.

Why would sightings be swept under the rug??

Also possibly she is back at JFK. They say there are many heated buildings there that are unused.

I hope they recover those stolen dogs/van. Missouri is a huge puppy mill state and if these are purebred dogs who knows what may happen. Hope they were not really after the dogs and the dogs at least are returned.

Libby, I was thinking the same thing about Vivi being back at JFK. The circular pattern and going back to an area where she was during cold weather. If someone has her, she might have been to a vet and she should have been scanned and her chip would have the info about her. I bet the owner's Montana location is listed in the registry.
I hope if this is so, Vivi is with a trusted person who will do the right thing and not be a thief.

It's harder than it sounds like it is to never leave a dog in a car when you travel with them. He had a truck full of crated working dogs and was in a restaurant. Realistically at the least you have to go to the bathroom...I travel with two pretty much everywhere I go by car and I am very, very careful with them, yet there are times when they are in a car without me. That cross-post is everywhere- this happened similarly last year, stock dogs, out west, and they were recovered before too long. They just want the truck so hopefully this will also happen with these guys and soon.

Aussies FOUND. YEA!!!!! Reunited with owner. That's all I know.

Margot, you need to "put credence" in what I posted...for Vivi's sake. Way too many politics and people unwilling to share vital information since the start of the search for this dog and it has, or will, cost Vivi her life.

I respect you and your thoughts, so please don't make this about me. It is about Vivi. My name is not important...I can sign a phony name and perhaps that would make me more credible in your eyes. Please don't go there, Margot. Focus on Vivi. I do KNOW what I am talking about.

Killing the messenger is NOT the way to go. "D" did everything a credible sighter could be expected to do. Now any new people out there will be totally reluctant to come forward and risk being called a "crackpot".....this is and has always been about power and egos, not the life of a little dog. WAKE UP!

Several people offered to make the contacts with the bridge authority, but the name and telephone number would NOT be shared by Honi....that's doing things in the same old way and guess what, we are getting the same old results! I still believe there is a frame on that tape showing a dog....if not, let this be verified by someone else making the contact and speaking to the bridge authority...share the contact's name and number.

Also vets do not routinely scan an animal for a chip. I took one of my dogs to a different vet she'd never been to before. She has a chip but they never scanned her until I asked, because she has some cysts on her neck and abdomen and I wanted to see if the chip migrated. Also if you can believe it, our local shelter did not even have chip scanners up until very recently. I bet there are some who still don't.

Anyway I don't know if there is any way to search JFK again. Those areas are off limits to public aren't they? What about the cat roundup there. Are they looking for dogs too --do you think they would know her if they saw her there again or would even report one and where would they report it?

Judging from my own dogs, they absolutely know where they are going when you take them places. I can approach an off lead area in a park where my dogs can run, from many directions in the SUV, but my dogs know when they are within several blocks. It is more than one place they know too. There are many places like my parents or friends places where they like to go, that they know they are close to those places too. They start up a howl you wouldn't believe. This is from inside an SUV without the benefit of ground scent or anything.

It's not inconceivable to me she would go back there. Dogs know where they are and where they have been when they have been in an area for a period of time.

As if the previous post wasn't long enough, I also wanted to mention that the sighting by D mentioned her turning and going back into the marshes. That is what made me think of JFK.

When I read the original things written of Vivi's escape and having her nearly cornered, someone said they were within a few feet of her but could not calm her or call her name, and she turned and escaped into the marshes thru a hole in the fence.

I thought that was an eerie similarity to her initial escape. I wish there were ways to check JFK on a regular basis.

Libby, I am NOT the person who posted annonymously at 7:09 AM today, but I did post the other two comments. For that reason, I cannot explain the comments that person made that you have asked about. However, I can answer your question as to where someone would report a sighting of Vivi. They should call the following toll free, 24/7 number immediately: 1-877-JFK-VIVI. It is the same number that's been used for well over a year now and is on all the flyers that are posted. Google will also come up with the number if you just post Vivi Search, etc.

I believe that "D" had not seen a flyer and had no record of the number and that is how she found her way to this blog and posted what she witnessed.

Dogs are so very intelligent and Vivi is such a brave little dog that I have no doubt she could very well be looking for shelter at JFK once again...

I did the post at 7:09 and must have forgotten to type my name in. I think dogs are very smart and remember places they've been before. How else do missing animals make their way back home 100's of miles away? JFK came to my mind also since she was there before in winter and it is near where D said she saw her. It is part of her circle.
I know not all vets and shelters have scanners, but I would hope a person would ask if a lost dog could be checked. There are enough commercials about these chips that it's not a strange concept.

I do not wish to start an argument on here and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I wanted to say my opinion of Honi has changed drastically from the opinion I had from the earlier blog. I have since communicated with this lady, and she has been very nice. I also found out she and her sister (I think that way the person) were out immediately looking for Vivi in those marshes. Also, she has always offered Rick and the others her hospitality and home when they were there looking for Vivi.

I in no way feel Honi wants to hide anything from anyone. Like Bonnie mentioned before, if you want to know something just call or e-mail she or Honi. Bonnie HAS ALWAYS replied to my e-mails with the information about Vivi I asked for.

I believe we all want this little dog found and brought home.

Kathleen...PULEEZE! Point is that ALL information and sightings need to be posted for ALL to see and know. MANY people read this blog and never post a word, don't want to be part of a group, but may go out and post an area where Vivi is sighted quietly and ALONE. People who live or work near a sighting area may jump in their cars and go take a look. THAT'S WHAT VIVI NEEDS TO BE SAVED....MORE EYES AND HELP!

People are NOT interested in private email conversations with Honi and Bonnie....unlike you, MOST people do not have the time or inclination to do that. Give everyone the chance to help, even if they are anonymous to the blog. People can take a quick look at the blog and see if there are new developments. If there are none, SAY THAT. Even a one sentence update every few days would go a very long way to help I believe.

Please post sightings ASAP, giving location, time and any other known information....what can be lost by doing this? There is and always has been secrecy in this search from DAY ONE....excuse then was that "they" didn't want people trampling the site...well, no need to be concerned about that anymore cause the people left are few and far between.

Fed up, the sighting was made public here on the blog by D and Roooby gave D the number to call. D posted back and said she did call and this dog could be Vivi.
Are you talking about past sightings? From what I have been told all legitimate calls are announced.
Kathleen was just stating her opinion of Honi and saying that if any of us have a question to contact Bonnie or Honi for a quicker response than just posting it here, that is all.

I agree with you Mila. Kathleen was just doing us a favor by checking. D was on the blog and her sighting was checked out. I don't understand all this ulginess either. What purpose does it serve but make most people want to stay away from here? We all want what is best for Vivi.

I don't think all information is put on the blog. You don't hear anything until the natives get really restless. The more you put on here, the more people will realize this is still an ongoing effort. Maybe if someone does have her, they are just waiting for search efforts to die down Keep the pressure on and maybe they will give her up

Also I have personally been shown an archived online post to a group, that there is or at least was at that time, a private group formed to share confidential information on Vivi. I read this with my own eyes online so it wasn't faked. I don't know if it still exists, but there was such a group at one time and I recognized the name of the person who posted it.
I never believed this was true until I saw it posted. Maybe this was just in the very early days and is no more, I don't know. Maybe it was felt this was necessary at one time but is no longer felt to be necessary.

If "D" had not posted her sighting on the blog, there is totally NO doubt the blog would NEVER have been informed....people "in the know" tried to bury the information for TWO MONTHS! The sighting was on SEPTEMBER 25TH....what in the world could take two and a half months to get an answer unless you are dragging your feet and hoping we will all go AWAY.

Think again, we are NOT going away....Vivi has suffered long enough and the lies need to STOP!

For those of us NOT in NYC.. we really have no idea what hell the foot soldiers have gone through for Vivi. Many of them had put their lives on hold, tirelessly searching for her. I bet they are NOT going away, either. Maybe from this blog, though, because of accusations of deception and lies. Remember the backbiting and bickering a while ago? We lost so many because of that, too.

And when information not to our liking (like this thread) is posted tempers flare all over again.
Vivi is out there, perhaps at JFK. A search was made and the area posted with D's sighting and nothing was found.
We need another sighting call for the searchers to have a starting point. Vivi moves quickly.

You're never going to hear about alleged sightings. Follow the money. Whomever took her out of state for hiding needs to bring her back.

In my gut, I think it WAS Vivi seen at the toll booths and that is hard to even type.

As Mila said, we haven't walked in the searchers' shoes and don't know what they have gone through with Vivi's search. Early on in the search, I had the priviledge of talking to Debbie one night. We were on the phone for about an hour and I could hear the worry, love and dedication she had to finding Vivi. She told me about hearing Vivi in that cemetary early on and not seeing her because of the dark and all the tombstones. Then how frustrating and heartbreaking it was the next morning when the gate was opened and Vivi slipped out before anyone could do anything. They were constantly searching all hours and trying various things to find and lure her to them. I learned a lot about the beauty and generousity of New Yorkers that night and the months since then. They are always there if someone needs help. BJ, your kind words to me about my cousin who has Lou Gehrig's disease were very comforting and helpful when I visited her in Philly. And Darlene, always there to help with a lost or abused furry friend. And the others of the NY Gals. We are fortunate that such caring people are in Vivi's corner and we should be here to help them and stick together, not pull apart. We all want Vivi found. I know I have worried and cried about her during this time to fill a river. Just ask my family who wondered at times why the fax machine always seemed to be low on paper.

Daddy God, we ask you to bring Vivi home swiftly. Show your rescuers where she is and shine your light on the path they are to follow. You are their Captain and you will lead them. Continue to give Vivi dreams of home and human companionship. We continue to bless her food, water and shelter that you provide for her each day. Please, Susan, give it a rest! NO ONE is bashing the foot soldiers and what was done here in NYC....realize there really is no one out there anymore. One or two people are trying hard to do a little, but the search as it was ended LONG AGO! TAKE THE BLINDERS OFF AND SEE THINGS AS THEY ARE, NOT AS YOU WISH THEY WERE! I am asking that everything be put out there so that new people who may have a little span of time and live or work near a sighting KNOW where to look and post, on their own. We know all about what was done and also what was NOT done....we need to deal with Vivi's situation as it is right now.....we have snow here and it's VERY cold. Once again, water is frozen and tough for strays to find water and warmth, let alone food.

All I am asking is that all the hush-hush nonsense STOP! Share everything with everyone...there is nothing to lose by doing that.

If there can be posts and stories on this blog about people marrying dogs in India and valium being hidden in litter boxes, then there can be a headline several times a week UPDATING the Vivi situation....when a sighting is phoned in, PLEASE post it IMMEDIATELY, not a week or ten days later, or NEVER. GIVE A SPECIFIC LOCATION IMMEDIATELY. IF an area needs posting, PUT THAT OUT THERE with specific locations. It is possible a person nearby will respond....WHAT IS THERE TO LOSE??? Pick a specific day for a VIVI UPDATE section....IF something comes up, POST IT IN THAT SECTION IMMEDIATELY. If nothing has happened, SAY SO! No one has the time or inclination to make daily and multiple calls and emails to Honi and Bonnie....get real here! That's not going to work for them OR for Vivi either. Time wasted all around!

Perhaps the person who posted that she was taken out of state and hidden is correct....I PRAY SHE IS SAFE, BUT that may not be the reality and Vivi may still be struggling to survive, hour by hour, in impossible conditions out there. Please understand what I am saying....STOP KEEPING POSSIBLE SIGHTINGS HIDDEN because you are denying Vivi possible help....no one is bashing any of the searchers, least of all me because I've walked in the searchers' shoes...you're not telling me anything I don't know first hand.

I have a pretty good idea who you are and I know you have searched also. I know it is cold and snow on the ground. I live in New England. I work with rescues so I know what can happen to animals and how rotten people can be. You're not telling me anything I or anyone else doesn't know. Just because Vivi might be with someone doesn't mean it's a desirable situation. I also hope she has found shelter and warmth in a safe place. Don't think the rest of us are idiots. Susan you just brought me to tears. I remember the cemetery very well, that will stay with me forever. we spent over 4 hours in there looking and then went back in after it closed because we heard something. Small cemetery but never saw her and looked under every bush, Darlene and I did a grid search and used binoculars to backtrack.

There are no sightings being kept, there have been none since September and none for months before that. The areas were covered and checked but as we know here one second gone the next. I have been to sightings when she was around the block from where we were and then she vanished. This girl can run and hide very easy and noone has given up, I was out with Darlene posting flyers for a lost lab and found one of my original Vivi flyers from over a year ago down a side block, if you think that didn't kill us well it did, We both looked at it and looked at each other and touched the flyer. I look everytime I go to Darlenes by the airport, unfortunaltely you cannot get into cargo, we were there once in the hangars and I tell you the size of them is like a football field with so many places to hide, try searching hundreds of them. I do not know where she is nor does anyone else here but am hoping she is safe and with someone.

First we don't have snow here it's going to be in the 40"s, we have had a few snow showers that never amounted to anything. If you think nothing was being done and the search was called off , try again, does anyone know how much I posted by mylself last winter by myslef in zero degree weather and the 2 feeding stations Rosa ,Monica and myself monitored everyday in 2 places in Queens with cameras at the sites. Monica there at 5am replacing food and changing cards with Rosa and I alternating times. Noone knew, it did not need to be posted as we did this on our own, if she came up on film we would have told everyone, so you see some of us have not given up when you think we have. Some things we did on our own without telling anyone and it was not a secret, it was to keep people away from the feeding areas so not to scare her if she was there. Remember how many people rushed the scenes and she ran.

Debbie, I know no one has given up, neither have we. Dogs have been found after long periods of time. I just wanted to say Thank you for what all of you have done and are still doing for Vivi and so many others you have helped.

Just this week, I found myself speaking to Darlene whose heart is broken over one of their rescues which did not work out as they had planned. It had me in tears just reading her e-mails and feeling the pain I knew she felt - been there many times myself with the same type of situation. But the ladies in NY are such "loving and trusting souls" helping so many little creatures, and this time an element of evil had attacked which Darlene had never experienced before. It was so heart-breaking to hear her sadness and disappointment in the human race because of this. I reminded her what my grandfather had always told me: "If evil attacks, we need to recognize this is the devil working especially hard to overcome the good we have been accomplishing. We need to pick ourselves up and move on - don't let the devil get us down because God is there with us and we are much stronger than Satan with God by our side."

I so agree Sue. Margot, I will be praying for Steve S also. So young, I know his Mom must be so worried. You just reminded me of another thing I have to be thankful for - very healthy sons and their wives and children as well. Such a blessing for sure.

The twins are now up to 12+ lbs, and Jesse has taken his first milestone. They were 3 mo on November 30, and yesterday (my grandmother's birthday) Jesse rolled over by himself for the first time. Good morning Daddy God. Thank you for watching over Vivi and for providing for her and caring for her when we can't. We depend completely on you and we are so grateful that you are providing for her and keeping her away from all harm. Please shine your light on her and show your chosen ones where she is. We know that day will come Daddy God. We know she is still out there and we will not ever give up. Lead your chosen ones to her and protect them. Strengthen them in your might and comfort them when their hearts are broken. This is very hard work and very stressful work in rescue for your creation. Help each one of them to feel your presence so they will know you are always there. Daddy God we ask you to heal Steven S. Sickness is an attack of the enemy and we ask you for total deliverance for him. Touch his heart so that he does not give up in his battle for victory. Show him in his heart that he can survive this and he can come into the light of your victory. Daddy God, flood him with your Holy Presence and strengthen his mind, his spirit and his body. MICHAEL VICK SENTANCED TO 23 MONTHS FOR DOG FIGHTING!!!!!!

Now that's a crime. He should have got life.

I am EXTREMELY upset over this short sentence of Vick's. I don't know about all of you folks, but I feel I am beating my head against a concrete post trying to fight for rights of God's beautiful creatures. WHAT IS WRONG WITH OUR LEGAL SYSTEM?

At least we know God promises us vengence is His - and I believe Vick will get that vengence the day he leaves this Earth and meets his Maker. Sure hope so.

I think Mikey Vickey got off way too easy...is it because he's a CELEBRITY!?? DUH!!
NO! He should have to be put away in jail for a long time, NOT 23 months!! should be 48 or more YEARS for each dog that he BRUTALIZED, ABUSED THEM!!

Thank you Susan and Betty for Steven's candles. Steven came home today after 46 days and 50 lb. lighter but he's Home!!!!!!. The people all over the world who said prayers made his homecoming possible. Truly a Christmas Miracle. Pls continue to pray for this young man who has been thru so much.

Some happy news for a change. Steven S is coming home from
the hospital, the antibiotics are finally working. Thanks for all
the prayers, now we need a miracle for our precious Vivi.
I need some prayers of my own, my uncle in NC fell yesterday while walking his dog, and got severe head trauma, and last night
they made the decision to let him go. He was on Plavix for
blood thinners, and it worked against him and the doctors were not able to stop the bleeding. He just lost his son three weeks
ago to a Heart Attack. They have lost three sons in three years,
and the pain is almost more than I can bear. I will be flying down
tommorrow for the funeral, this man gave me away for my wedding after my Dad passed away. Pls prayer for my family

I also believe they didn't give Michael vICK enough time, but maybe with the federal charges against him for gambling, he'll get more time. I'm sickened by his former team members sticking up for him and saying it was only dog fighting..........It was that plus his killing dogs with his own bare hands that shows on top of the dog fights, he is a killer....He's pure scum..I'm sure the only reason he went to jail 3 weeks early was to get the sympathy of the people.
There are ten thousand young men who could do as good or better a job playing football than vICK..He can be replaced in a heart beat and should be. If the NFL takes him back, oy....how sad for them.

Vivi and the other candle site could use a few more people saying prayers and lighting candles...DANTE is fine now, but prayers for his continued good health would be appreciated..
