Thank you Denise for putting up with us through thick and thin. While I was in the Vet ER last night with my cocker spaniel,who had 2 seizures at home, I read your interview of the Dog Whisperer in Dog Fancy. It was very nice to see a familiar face in a magazine as we were waiting for test results. The article was very interesting and I learned a lot more about Cesar as a person. Our dog Piper seems to be OK today and might be epileptic so we have to keep an eye out for more seizures. Always have Vivi and our lost pups in my heart and pray that we will find her very soon. What a great present for Jill and Rick it will be. Happy New Year, Denise to you and your family.
Kathleen, I am so sorry your family didn't make it to your house for Christmas. I know you and Tinkerbell missed them. I know you are going to see them at a later date. May you have a wonderful Happy New Year and I admire the work you do at St. Jude's. It's an awesome hospital.
The same thing happened to me. I was in the emergency vets last fall and opened a Dog Fancy magazine randomly to a Denise health article.
Are there any updates on Ticket sightings? Was he spotted over the holiday?

Our cocker spaniel Noah suffered from petit mal seizures. They came on pretty suddenly when he was four. They settled down almost as quickly, although I believe my mom did have medication on hand for him. He lived to the ripe old age of 15. We will pray that he continues to do well!
Gail, Tell me about Axel in Utah? I don't remember him! Was he a greyhound or what?
Susan - I am sure glad to hear Piper seems to be doing better. My prayers are with this sweetie. It is so hard when they are sick and cannot tell us what is wrong.
Sharon - My family got here at midnight last night. Thank you for helping me "pray them safely to Memphis." You will never know what it means to have a good friend like you praying for someone I love.
All I can say is that my grandchildren, Kenzie and Joey, are so incredible and beautiful. How I wish all of you could see them in person! My Kenzie kept looking at me and saying, "Grandma, you go home with me?" My heart was breaking knowing by this weekend she will be going so far away from Grandma again. What a precious gift God gave us with these two sweethearts. Words could never express the love in my heart for these two babies.

I hope everyone had a good Christmas !!! I don't know if anyone else has been sick lately but boy I wouldn't wish the cold thats been going on here to anyone... I have been sick for 12 days now and it's a real bad cold/body flu that has managed to invade my body and literally suck the life right out of me. IF anyone gets a sore throat and the next day it's a really bad cold the BEST thing to take over the counter is the Tylenol for multi flu then you'll have to also get Tylenol for cough and congestion. I'm just warning everyone that this is a season for Stomach bugs, and severe colds which have put people in the Hospital. Just figured since I work in medical I'd let everyone know to stock up on meds, vicks vapo rub , soup and be ready...if you catch it you won't want to leave the house. I'm still praying for Vivi and always keeping the faith...

KATHLEEN: Any News on the GREAT DANE (Baily?) that was lost at the Memphis Airport, we havne't had any updates on the poor dog. Hope there is progress being made.
CHRISSY: Hope your feeling better soon, If I am correct, didn't you post before the Holiday about stopping and helping that poor dog who was hit by a car, you helped him get medical attention, and he was headed for surgery the next morning, any news on him? Or do I have the wrong blogger? So many poor helpless fur babies to worry about I can't keep it all straight at times.

Chrissy - I know what you're going through. I also started out with a sore throat and now it's Day 9 for me. It really does suck the energy out of you. Of course, I blame my husband because he was sick the week before and I think he shared it with me. Real nice! Ha!
I'm sorry to hear that you are sick Pam :( hopefully you'll feel better soon. And Rosa yes that was me that posted about Trevor the Yellow Lab that was hit. He's home now and doing good. He's still got a long way to go but his family is happy that he's home with them and I know they are spoiling him rotten ... Saving that dog really made my Christmas complete and put a big smile on my face. Keeping the faith ...
Chrissy and Pam - Take care and get better. My New Mexico son was sick with that stomach stuff and that is why they did not leave for Memphis until Christmas Eve and then had the van problem. But they are here now and he is doing well.
Rosa, no news on Bailey so far. We have put out flyers and driven around, but no sightings as far as I know. Pam is the contact person in Memphis, and she promised to call me if any news. Poor baby. We need some sightings before we even know which direction to head (sound familiar weenie crew?) Pam is also checking the shelters for Bailey too. So maybe soon we will hear something. Sure hope so.

MADISON UPDATE - Unfortunately, Gina has shown up with rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia as well. Please pray hard for Gina. Like she says, she needs her hands to take care of Madison.

Hello from South Texas! I hope everyone's holiday celebrations were joyous. Our family went to Christmas eve service at church, but I ended up leaving early with Madison because she was getting another fever and seemed to be struggling with her breathing a bit. I got her home and did a breathing treatment and she perked up. By christmas morning, she was just fine, so I guess it was her body still fighting off the pneumonia.
There was a lot of hustle and bustle on Christmas day, but Madison went with the flow of it. We started off by opening gifts at our house and then went to my parents' house for Christmas lunch/early dinner and more gift opening. Later on in the night, we went to a Christmas party. Madison hung in there, but she didn't really respond to anything. Oh how I wish she could experience Christmas like she did last year. She had so much fun. Anyway, can't dwell on the past, I know.
Christmas morning for me was not very positive. I woke up with my hands and feet extremely swollen and my joints hurting something awful. I've had trouble off and on, but I attributed it to carpal tunnel or my weight. Well, today just was worse than ever. Luckily, I got my wedding ring off before it had to be cut off. I suffered through Christmas and called a rheumatologist the day after Christmas with fears of rheumatoid arthritis. He worked me in and after being there for 2 hours and getting lab work and xrays, I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthrits and fibromyalgia. He said that Fibromyalgia can be brought on by a physical or emotional traumatic event. Gee, I think I qualify there! I'm on a ton of medicine right now and the goal is to get the RA into remission. Please add me to your prayers. I need my hands to be able to care for Madison!!
I hope that everyone has a wonderful new years. I'm trying to fight off the depression but looking forward to a new year with new changes.

I've only seen black Giants Schnauzers. I had a neighbor who had one. We walked at night and he would stand on his hind legs and look over the fence and bark at us. Not too friendly a dog, but Axel looks like a sweetie. His coloring IS unusual.
Many thanks for all the good wishes for Piper. She seems to be doing fine. Our vet is going to check her tomorrow. They have all the paperwork from the ER Vet. Kathleen, so happy that your son's family got to Memphis. I know you and Tinkerbell are enjoying their visit. My middle son loves giant Black Schnauzers and wants to own one someday. He has a bulldog now. I hope that Axel and Bailey are sighted very soon so they can be reunited with their families. Too many lost dogs out there. I hope all our lost pets will greet the new year by being found. Any news of sightings?

I hope things go well with Pipers report Susan. My female Whippet spent a Christmas Eve day and night, and all of Christmas day in a ER vets a few years back..It was a sad time, but I got her at 5 p.m. on Christmas day!

Ruby ruby ruby ruby...Yes I am going to Cedartown tomorrow. I have been talking to Jackie off and on all day so I know as much as she does about the recent sightings. That said I wouldn't get my hopes up. I will at least be able to report back and take a few photos and hand out flyers. I am taking cat food and will see what I can do. He is a shy whippet who has been out for awhile so I am not expecting that he will come running to me but maybe I will get some information.

Thank you Denise for putting up with us through thick and thin. While I was in the Vet ER last night with my cocker spaniel,who had 2 seizures at home, I read your interview of the Dog Whisperer in Dog Fancy. It was very nice to see a familiar face in a magazine as we were waiting for test results. The article was very interesting and I learned a lot more about Cesar as a person. Our dog Piper seems to be OK today and might be epileptic so we have to keep an eye out for more seizures. Always have Vivi and our lost pups in my heart and pray that we will find her very soon. Our cocker spaniel Noah suffered from petit mal seizures. They came on pretty suddenly when he was four. They settled down almost as quickly, although I believe my mom did have medication on hand for him. He lived to the ripe old age of 15. We will pray that he continues to do well!
Gail, Tell me about Axel in Utah? I don't remember him! Was he a greyhound or what?
Susan - I am sure glad to hear Piper seems to be doing better. My prayers are with this sweetie. It is so hard when they are sick and cannot tell us what is wrong.
Sharon - My family got here at midnight last night. Thank you for helping me "pray them safely to Memphis." You will never know what it means to have a good friend like you praying for someone I love.
All I can say is that my grandchildren, Kenzie and Joey, are so incredible and beautiful. How I wish all of you could see them in person! My Kenzie kept looking at me and saying, "Grandma, you go home with me?" My heart was breaking knowing by this weekend she will be going so far away from Grandma again. What a precious gift God gave us with these two sweethearts. Words could never express the love in my heart for these two babies.

I hope everyone had a good Christmas !!! I don't know if anyone else has been sick lately but boy I wouldn't wish the cold thats been going on here to anyone... I have been sick for 12 days now and it's a real bad cold/body flu that has managed to invade my body and literally suck the life right out of me. IF anyone gets a sore throat and the next day it's a really bad cold the BEST thing to take over the counter is the Tylenol for multi flu then you'll have to also get Tylenol for cough and congestion. I'm just warning everyone that this is a season for Stomach bugs, and severe colds which have put people in the Hospital. Just figured since I work in medical I'd let everyone know to stock up on meds, vicks vapo rub , soup and be ready...if you catch it you won't want to leave the house. I'm still praying for Vivi and always keeping the faith...

KATHLEEN: Any News on the GREAT DANE (Baily?) that was lost at the Memphis Airport, we havne't had any updates on the poor dog. Hope there is progress being made.
CHRISSY: Hope your feeling better soon, If I am correct, didn't you post before the Holiday about stopping and helping that poor dog who was hit by a car, you helped him get medical attention, and he was headed for surgery the next morning, any news on him? Or do I have the wrong blogger? So many poor helpless fur babies to worry about I can't keep it all straight at times.

Chrissy and Pam - Take care and get better. My New Mexico son was sick with that stomach stuff and that is why they did not leave for Memphis until Christmas Eve and then had the van problem. But they are here now and he is doing well.
Rosa, no news on Bailey so far. We have put out flyers and driven around, but no sightings as far as I know. Pam is the contact person in Memphis, and she promised to call me if any news. Poor baby. We need some sightings before we even know which direction to head (sound familiar weenie crew?) Pam is also checking the shelters for Bailey too. So maybe soon we will hear something. Sure hope so.

Hello from South Texas! I hope everyone's holiday celebrations were joyous. Our family went to Christmas eve service at church, but I ended up leaving early with Madison because she was getting another fever and seemed to be struggling with her breathing a bit. I got her home and did a breathing treatment and she perked up. By christmas morning, she was just fine, so I guess it was her body still fighting off the pneumonia.
There was a lot of hustle and bustle on Christmas day, but Madison went with the flow of it. We started off by opening gifts at our house and then went to my parents' house for Christmas lunch/early dinner and more gift opening. Later on in the night, we went to a Christmas party. Madison hung in there, but she didn't really respond to anything. Oh how I wish she could experience Christmas like she did last year. She had so much fun. Anyway, can't dwell on the past, I know.
Christmas morning for me was not very positive. I woke up with my hands and feet extremely swollen and my joints hurting something awful. I've had trouble off and on, but I attributed it to carpal tunnel or my weight. Well, today just was worse than ever. Luckily, I got my wedding ring off before it had to be cut off. I suffered through Christmas and called a rheumatologist the day after Christmas with fears of rheumatoid arthritis. He worked me in and after being there for 2 hours and getting lab work and xrays, I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthrits and fibromyalgia. He said that Fibromyalgia can be brought on by a physical or emotional traumatic event. Gee, I think I qualify there! I'm on a ton of medicine right now and the goal is to get the RA into remission. Please add me to your prayers. I need my hands to be able to care for Madison!!
I hope that everyone has a wonderful new years. I'm trying to fight off the depression but looking forward to a new year with new changes.

I've only seen black Giants Schnauzers. I had a neighbor who had one. We walked at night and he would stand on his hind legs and look over the fence and bark at us. Not too friendly a dog, but Axel looks like a sweetie. His coloring IS unusual.
Many thanks for all the good wishes for Piper. She seems to be doing fine. Our vet is going to check her tomorrow. They have all the paperwork from the ER Vet. Kathleen, so happy that your son's family got to Memphis. I know you and Tinkerbell are enjoying their visit. My middle son loves giant Black Schnauzers and wants to own one someday. He has a bulldog now. I hope that Axel and Bailey are sighted very soon so they can be reunited with their families. Too many lost dogs out there. I hope all our lost pets will greet the new year by being found. Any news of sightings?

That said I wouldn't get my hopes up. I will at least be able to report back and take a few photos and hand out flyers. I am taking cat food and will see what I can do. He is a shy whippet who has been out for awhile so I am not expecting that he will come running to me but maybe I will get some information.

COURT WHERE THERE WAS THE GATHERING A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO. I ASK, NO I BEG ANYONE WHO CAN TO TAKE 5 MINUTES AND SEND A LETTER TO THE COURT.
IT CAN ONLY HELP!!! BASICALLY MY LETTER WILL PLEAD WITH THEM TO GIVE HIM A SECOND CHANCE AND LET HIM RETURN TO HIS FAMILY!! IT WILL ALSO POINT OUT THAT HE'S BEEN A "MODEL PRISONER" FOR THE 3 YEARS HE'S BEEN IN THE SHELTER. AS WE ALL KNOW, SHELTER LIFE IS VERY STRESSFUL AND HE'S HANDLED IT BEAUTIFULLY! BLAH, BLAH, BLAH - YOU GET THE PICTURE.

Hi all! Just wanted to let you know that Ticket has been sighted several times in the same area within the last week and the Cedartown folks in that neighborhood have been leaving food out for him because they are kind people helping out a stray!
Karen and Mary are working together to find sweet Ticket today. Please light some candles for Ticket (ticke) and send him and Karen and Mary good energy for a quick capture! A THANK YOU to the folks in the Cooper and Lake St area for watching out for Ticket!!
