Denise -

My sincere congratulations on this honor. You certainly deserve it and earned it (especially dealing with us animal lovers on this blog).

Denise, you have numerous times brought atrocities of little creatures to our attention, knowing that these animal lovers would let their voices be heard and hopefully things would get changed along the way.

You have given us the ability (from all over the US and world) to know about this sweet little face named Vivi, and hold hope that she will return to those that love her in California.

And you have also shared uplifting stories with all of us to keep our hearts from breaking along the way.

Vivi, the bloggers, all animals, and many more would like to say thank you very much. Me especially. Through Vivi and this blog I have learned new and better ways to help animals (even with my handicaps I deal with).

Wonder if Vivi will ever know how much she has accomplished with her journeys in New York!

Wow Denise. Wonderful. Even though I dislike the heartbreak of hurting animals, and some topics are difficult for me to read about, this honor is a much deserved recognition. Even though the blog has its nuts moments, all of us here owe so much to your effort and dedication.

Heck, you should get an award just for putting up with us. I can imagine how embarrassing we are at times. The Vivi group and all animal lovers here say "Great Going" - and a big heartfelt "Thanks."

So true Sedona, I looked back at the first posting by Paul on the blog at the early start (I believe it was Kathy in Colorado who said she did this and brought me to want to re-read it as well). Do you know we were all just as bad then as now. It is that love and passion for animals that brings out the "animal" in us! But we all agree on one thing - no animal should suffer and Vivi should come home. And we have all worked very hard toward this mission.

Congratulations to Denise and congratulations also to the accomplishments from this blog (made possible through many kind people)! Hurray for our team.

You mean me too! Gads - don't remind me of those days please. But for sure we've done much good for lost and hurting animals, and somehow through our heartbreak and everything else (with Vivi still loose, and now probably with pups) we can pull together and continue the good work to save her and others. And that is truly amazing. So you blog readers out there, don't be so quick to judge our nonesense, underneath is a heart of pure gold!

Congratulations Denise - you certainly deserve this award. Like those before me have said - without you and this site, I never would have learned of the trials and tribulations of our dear sweet Vixen, Vivi. Through this blog, I have experienced 7+ months like I never could have imagined. Thru this site we have learned of dear, sweet Otis, Tammy and Doogie, Duke the Pitbull, Sniffles, Skully Cat, Tinkerbell, the Weenie Queen, Ruby Shoes, Fishy Pants, Little Princess Madison, Scoops, and hundreds of people and animals that I can't even begin to list here. It has helped me cope with the loss of my kitty Bowdee and to not lose hope that he still can be out there and eventually come back home to me. This blog has brought out emotions of all kinds from everyone - tempers have flaired and emotions have been spilled. Animal lovers are truly a very emotional group and those emotions, every one imaginable, have been brought to this blog.

I can't thank you enough for allowing this blog to continue, even though at times you have had to post strick warnings and threats of it going away if we don't straighten up. I just know that I look to this blog every day to find out the latest on that dear whippet that has consumed my thoughts and prayers since that fateful day in February and continues to do so and will continue to do so until the blessed day that she is found. Congratulations Denise on an award well deserved.

Thanks Denise - Without this blog I would have never known what was happening to Vivi. And I certainly wouldn't have been able to be involved in whatever I can do to help find her.

Many congratulations on your award!

Congratulations and thanks for providing a forum for animal lovers to exchange thoughts, information, opinions, and emotions.

Congratulations Denise for an award most deserved. In spite of the fact that we sometimes get out of line, I for one want you to know how much everrything you do is appreciated.

Denise, CONGRATULATIONS! We are proud of you!

Congratulations, Denise!
Thank you for providing a place for animal lovers to keep up with the ViVi search and for the opportunity to help other unfortunate animals. You have provided a wonderful service here.

Mazel tov!

Good going Denise. We love ya!

I second the Mazel Tov to you, Denise. You do a great job. Thanks for giving all of us the opportunity to save animals' lives through the blog and putting up with us.

Congraduations Denise. You certainly deserve the recognition. Especially considering we took this once peaceful blog over by storm. lol I remember when it was where you put your stories of animal interest before Vivi. I am awed at your patience and compassion. Thank you for all you do.

Barbara-Jean

A big thank you to Denise for this wonderful blog.
I met all of you when I was going through the horrible sickness with my whippet Nell. All the people on this blog helped me so much, and seemed
to care more than my own family. I will never forget
the support I received when I lost my little whippet
girl so suddenly to cancer, I love you all, and
I am grateful to this blog, Again Denise my
heartfelt thanks for allowing us to become a family,
Yes there are highs and lows, but overall we
all care about each other, and that is the most
important thing. I pray every day that Vivi comes
home to Jill and Rick. It will happen, we just\
need to continue the faith.

Love ya all

Sue G ( and Nell )

Wendi from N.H: Diane received your posters and I picked them up today. Thank you so much..

Hey everyone - Here is the hyperlink for the "Newswomen's Club of New York" I believe. I noticed the one in the article is not working properly.

Enjoy!

As always Denise, you have my gratitude, and the gratitude of untold others, for creating this blog as such a service. Blessings!

Angel of God, My Guardian dear,
to whom God's love commits me here,
Ever this night be at my side-
To light,
To guard,
To rule,
and guide. Amen.
(How many people remember this prayer from childhood?)
Creator God, Father of All, We praise you, and place all of Creation in Your hands. Keep Vivi, Bowdee, and all the lost and homeless in Your sight tonight. Heal all of our sick, send special healing to Pam during her recovery. Help and comfort Renee who is struggling with an animal related injury. She takes such good care of your animal babies, Father, send her a special blessing. We lift these and all of our petitions in confidence to You!
We ask You to answer them in Your time, will, and in Your holy name.
There are many more wonderful animals, and people for whom we are praying protection and healing. We put all in Your hands this night.
We pray this night,Father, that You continue Your watch over Vivi,Bowdee,Biggie,Sniffles,Holly, African Grey, Faithful (the little girl's seizure dog), Buddy, Rags, Precious, Whippet Annie Little Aussie, Apple Riley, and Montefiore Mama, Daddy, and girl (the “tree puppies’” family)so that not even “one paw slips”and now the new cemetary strays. Show them to the volunteer of Your choice so that they may return to their earthly families. Surprise us by sending Vivi home to a volunteer (BJ, Debbie, Darlene,Diane, Gail, Monica, Debbie?)
Many of us also have animals which need Your healing touch, Great Physician we lift to you for your healing touch:Maureen,Doogie, Prince the Sheltie, CJ, Dante, Zipper, Felice, Max, Little McGee, Murphy, Mylie, Barbaro, Gunner, Linus, Kiva, Ellie,(restore all that had to be taken), Morgan, Little Andi, Nicki, Dude, Tucker, Brandy, Tinkerbell, Lexie, Isabella, Twin Kittens, Bowen, Pie Bird, Heather, and Lady. Enfold all of us in Your healing embrace.
We are frail Father and many of us need Your healing so that we can serve the purpose for which You have created us.
We lift up the following people in need of Your healing: Pam,Renee,Millicent,Jacque, JL, Lance, Madison, Kathleen's Mom Mary,Chris, Abby and Kathleen.
God of Power, stand behind Tammie and Doogie, Duke and Denise, and Otis' followers, as they have stood behind these animals, until justice is done.Thank you so much for helping us find a good home for Kristy!!!Help Tashia the Husky find a home.
Be with all who mourn tonight. especially Gail and her family. Let her mom who often searched with her for Vivi, join the search from Heaven. Greet all, human and animal alike, who will make the journey to Paradise this night. Reward our faithful animal companions who have gone ahead. Let all who are homeless know Your love, and ours, too.
Send your angels and saints to work with Vivi's angels. These NYC volunteers serve as Your compassionate presence on earth. Don't let them become discouraged. Let them know that prayer wise "we've got their back"!
Let our faith grow as a result of this experience! Restore as we sleep, Heavenly Father, as we turn over the night watch to you! YOU ARE IN CHARGE! AMEN!

Denise, all those months ago I typed in "lost whippet in NYC" on search and your site came up. I would never have found this wonderful sight and met such caring and giving individuals if Animal House had not presented Vivi's story. You deserve the award and so much more (hope there was $1,000,000 attached to your plaque)!! You have earned it, as our fellow bloggers had mentioned, with your animal editorials and your caring and parental monitoring regarding our "highly emotional bursts of frustration and anxiety" towards our fellow bloggers. We all care about each other and friends do disagree at times, some more vocally than others, but our goal remains true. LETS FIND THAT GIRL AND GET HER HOME!

I thought I'd post this being it was so recent and maybe someone may come here looking for help.

This DOG - ID#A679259

Are you my owner? I am lost and someone is holding onto me temporarily.

I am a spayed female, tan Greyhound.

My age is unknown.

Someone found me on Sep 30, 2006.
This information is 1 hour old.

.

B-J, there is also another Grey on the site. Wonder if they are related and lost at the same time?

This DOG - ID#A679207

Are you my owner? I am lost and someone is holding onto me temporarily.

I am a spayed female, gray Greyhound.

The finder thinks I am about 6 years old.

Someone found me on Sep 29, 2006.

Mila B - That is also how I came to this site. I was trying to find any information I could on Vivi after I heard about it on the national news. I found this site by accident. I wasn't aware of it before then.

B-J and Mila - Isn't it amazing how destiny brought us all together. You are two of my favorite people I have meet on this blog. I would have never known you if not for Vivi.

I was an animal-lover in Memphis, TN, very upset when I heard the search was over for Vivi. Thanks to Bobbi and The Strays, I learned about this blog. My sons were so happy. I finally calmed down knowing Vivi had not been left behind without people looking for her.

God and destiny brought us all together for missions He has for us, and I am convinced when God feels our works have been completed then we will find our sweet Vivi and she will return to California.

In the meantime, each day brings new animals and people who need us, and more is accomplished by some very kind and loving people.

Hope we are going to here some news this weekend. It is a gorgeous day here in NH, hope it is the same for everyone looking for our little friend.

This is the first time I have done posters and I was shocked while at Staples that many people had not heard her story.
They are 11 x 14 color laminate posters and by the time I was done, I had a crowd all standing around admiring her as I told her story!

The posters are on their way, I'll be happy to do more in the same size or whatever anyone needs. I wanted to make sure these are OK before I continue.

Does anyone know the date of Jill and Ricks marriage?

**** Mila and BJ If you are in NY, is there any way you can check those "greyhounds" to be positive they are not Vivi??? Shelter workers are often saints, but they mis-identify dog breeds CONSTANTLY as you may know. I note there is no picture on the website.

Also, Mila you mentioned earlier about a national abuse registry. There is a database at www.pet-abuse.com/database/ you may want to check out.

Major, major congrats, Denise!!! You so deserve this recognition!!! I do not know what we would all do without you and without you keeping this "blog" sane and together!!! For creating this blog!! Very sincere congratulations!! Very sincere! Thank you so very much! Keeping the Faith, Marnie in CA

Jackie, Good idea about follow up on the greyhounds.
The posting for the tan grey has been removed. I have emailed AC&C regarding the other grey possibly being Vivi. They have been pretty good about getting back to me on previous requests. Both greys were listed as being spayed, though. I will update when I hear back. B-J, is there anyone who can check in person?
I had heard about the pet abuse database, had not seen the site. Wouldn't it be nice if it were manditory that all abusers would need to register!!

Mila I didn't see the other grey hound. I wonder also if they were from the same family. I

Jackie I can not check on these dogs myself. Aren't they usually tattoed if adopted? Maybe greyhound rescue can check them out.

It certainly has been deafening around here lately!! Can I get a rise out of anyone with this piece of news!! We went into a Liquor Store yesterday,,,,, and discovered but DID NOT buy Godiva Cappuccino Liqueur----ANY body try any of this stuff yet???????

Martha-Martha..uh, try to control the Godiva Liquer thing! You know what happnes when the Vivi Team has a few beers...Do you wanna get a bad reputation?

HELP:::: Otis has 2,995 signatures on his petition, just 5 more and it will hit 3,000! I'm hoping someone will sign today. We must put his abuser in jail! You don't have to read the body of the petition, it is very upsetting, but PLEASE sign it!

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/451360147

Haven't tried it Martha, but it sounds pretty darn good!

Very, very quiet here.

Diane Tamm stopped by my house this weekend and dropped off two Squirrel Barkers (a thingie that makes noices like a squirrel) one for me and one for Gail. The other teams will also get some.. We are going to use them to see if Vivi reacts to the sound and comes running to us. Now woouldn't that be great if she did! I might even kiss Diane if she does, ok so I am lying. Yikees!!

Duke's petition surpassed the 3,000 mark - YAY :)

Thanks Kathy, I think I'll pass. A simple thank you would be fine which you've already said so we'll leave it at that (LOL)

When B-J and Kathy first notified me about the Greyhound that was at AC&C I left a message for Greatful Greys, the local rescue group. It's very possible they went in and got that dog out.

Happy Feast of St. Francis! Today...?

I'm very concerned about TARIK'S. It's is cruel and unnecessary to use a metal prong collar. TAEIK
deserves a home where the owners are trained with the correct methods to teach this dog. Clicker training would work beautifully I hope he is found and does not go back to the last owners -- they don't have the knowledge on how to train him.
