On Thurs., June 22, Posh Nightclub at the Garden City Hotel hosts a Charity Bachelor/Bachelorette Auction to benefit Bobbi and the Strays.
For those who have been on the Vivi trail since its earliest days at JFK
Airport, Bobbi's outpost in the airport cargo areas was a frequent meeting
spot and "refueling" station for posters and flyers.
While Vivi eventually headed northward, Bobbi and the Strays continues to
do its quiet, unassuming work, helping homeless dogs and cats in this
under-served area of southeast Queens.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Bidding begins at 8 p.m. Ticket price is $35, which
includes buffet and OPEN BAR!
Alas, hotel magnate Brian Rosenberg is happily married and will not be on
the block.
Tickets available at door- please come and show your support and possibly
buy a bachelor or bachelorette, too!

Sorry, won't be making the fund raiser for Bobbie & the strays. The 4 kittens(The Honeymooners) keep me very busy.
But I still hope & pray that Vivi is found.

The fund raiser was a success! Fairly good turnout-though you can always have more people, sold lots of 50/50 tickets, lots of raffles, the bachelors went from a low of $40 to I think $500! Bobbie did have flyers about Sniffles out so she is trying to help Ashley.
I didn't bid on anyone out of respect for my boyfriend though that may have been a mistake!
Money to find strays- a good donation and a fun evening.

Responding to the need for better plans to deal with animals during disasters, Congress introduced bills in both houses. The House of Representatives passed a bill that would ensure that all states take into account the needs of animals when drawing up emergency and evacuation plans, but it does not provide any funding to increase shelter capacity, or states to be reimbursed for actions taken to protect animal life.
The Senate version of the PETS bill is an important improvement over the House version. This bill acknowledges the federal government’s responsibility to provide funding to help states and localities cover the additional costs of animal shelter, care and reunion. Without federal funding, states will be unable to put into place the systems of care and recovery we know are needed to provide for the needs of families with pets. It is vital that the Senate approve legislation that would require the federal government to reimburse states for the costs of rescuing and sheltering animals and reuniting them with their human families.
