The daily message from Bo Bengtson, Vivi's breeder:
UPDATE AS OF MONDAY NIGHT, APRIL 10, 2006
Two recent stories of lost dogs that were caught parallel Vivi’s situation. One is told by Karin Goin, who helped track Vivi earlier:
“I privately just finished a case study I was working on a with dog at large in my area. The ‘at large’ problem in my mind is the biggest one for me to conquer. I chose a German Shepherd that has been in a mile square area near the town I live in for the past four months. Xenophobic and extremely skittish. ... No one could get within 100 yards of her. ... I am putting together the notes now but after just seven feedings, I captured her and it went very quickly after the first five feedings. On the sixth time I fed her by hand and on the seventh I picked her up and put her in my van. I used lots of little tricks which I will forward to you and the most surprising thing is the dog seemed to relax when I lay a leash across her neck and slip knotted it.
“She is here with me now and became very different after being helped. She is very devoted and has obviously been someone’s dog... Ultimately I figured out her routine and then used my scent and tongue clicks to get her to come to me. I also used my little Chihuahua, and his eating caused her to be more bold. I let him go out to her off leash and then return to me. The little 5-pound wonder really helped in bringing her closer. By the fourth feeding, she knew the van meant food and she looked for it at around 6:30 pm. I showed up near the same place whenever I could get there at that time. I believe I have the beginnings of a solution.”
Barbara Burdick of the Barclay/Lyca Poodles writes:
“I had a Miniature Poodle running for six weeks in New Jersey. Like Vivi, people kept seeing her but could not get her. People were feeding her also, she was running a 10 mile radius, was seen one day over here and the next day five miles away and then running the main road. Like Vivi she was not a street dog, in fact the only place she ever had been was with Camille and then me for three years. ... She circled around, had only been in NJ for one week and did not know the area. There were acres and acres of woods, farms and wildlife. People would see her in one area so they would leave food, I would run down (two hours away) and she would be gone again. We put posters up. The police and animal control were no help. The people were wonderful, a lot of rescue people.
“Two days ago two burly guys put some pork and raw chicken with bacon grease over like a gravy and made a trail from their trap to the woods where the foot prints went to. The next morning they called and said they got her in the trap. These guys had a huge trap and that is what she went into. The other people were setting out the small traps, we also got raccoons and cats, but these traps were too small. I knew that a 15 inch Miniature Poodle would not go in that one. Their trap was as big as a 700 crate or even bigger.
“Anyway, what I am saying is all these do-gooders (pet people) will not catch a dog on the run, these guys are farmers, trappers and hunters and knew what to do, don't know if they will go to NY but won't hurt to try. By the way, the only reward they wanted was a case of beer and for the dog to be OK. The girlfriend raised Shelties. Good luck.”
These stories confirm that simply going out and looking for Vivi is not going to help. We can’t stop anyone from doing so, but I hope if these people see Vivi they will at least follow the guidelines for “How to Catch Vivi” that emphasize NOT trying to go up to her, not establish eye contact and of course absolutely not chasing her. Establishing a bond through food is key. We will also investigate the possibility of finding an oversize trap.
Waiting and not doing anything actively is tough, but it’s important if we want Vivi back. It could take a long time since she’s obviously coping much better in the wild than anyone could have anticipated.
DEALING WITH DELTA
Delta has sent the two checks promised to Jil’s laywer. It no longer appears clear that Jil is releasing Delta from any responsibility by accepting these checks, so she will do so. (Like everything dealing with airlines and legalities, the information keeps changing.) What Delta has paid barely begins to pay for the costs for the search so far but will at least help cover some of our travelling costs. Most of the big expenses so far have been funded by Paul, with additional costs paid for by generous contributions from Westminster Kennel Club, private individuals to the Vivi fund and a separate group operating independently from the fund. We appreciate all the help tremendously and are pleased that it seems a considerable portion of the Vivi fund will be donated to the JFK shelter, “Bobbi and the Strays.”
Following is a statement that Jil’s lawyer, Joyce Randazzo, has authorized me to release:
“Delta’s actions are contemptible. Delta negligently lost Jil’s dog Vivi, then was further negligent in failing to properly help find her. At this point, Jil and Vivi’s co-owner Paul have expended $10,000 or more searching for Vivi and Delta has agreed only to reimburse her $2000. Delta has also offered to pay the limit allowed for lost baggage, $2800.
“Jil only wanted her dog back and some assurance that Delta would adjust its procedures to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future. When Vivi first escaped on the tarmac Delta wouldn’t even provide information as to what really happened or what steps, if any, Delta was taking to help find her dog. When there had been a sighting of Vivi near a Sky Chef building at JFK, Jil arranged for a professional searcher to search the area. Delta thwarted the search for days, claiming the Port Authority would not allow the search. However, after contacting the Port Authority it was learned that permission was not necessary to search the particular Sky Chef building.
“I have not received a response to my letter to Delta’s General counsel, Scott Kruse, Esq. To date I have only rec’d a telephone call from John Goodwin, a Delta Customer Claims Manager, who advised that ‘legal will not respond until a lawsuit is commenced.’ He also stated that Delta will go no further with paying any of Jil’s expenses and that Delta is prepared to defend in a lawsuit.”
That’s from Joyce. A few weeks ago I reported from my own initial dealings with Delta, which were equally disappointing. Individual Delta check-in employees, on-flight staff, etc. (all of whom knew about Vivi) have been extremely sympathetic; the above concerns management only. According to a LA Times story, Delta pilots, “angered by management’s efforts to throw out their contracts and impose a deep pay cut” (over 50%), have voted to authorize a strike. Delta filed for bankrupty protection in September, 2005 and says that a strike would put the airline out of business.
A company spokesman is quoted as saying, “… we remain focused on our No. 1 priority, which is taking good care of our customers.” Obviously this does not include customers accompanied by dogs.
The response I have received from the major airlines I contacted has been slight so far, but I gave them a Thursday deadline so hope for more information.
On a positive note, the USAirways employee newsletter of April 7 published an “all points bulletin” about Vivi, complete with a color photo and information about how to act if anyone sees her. Our appreciation to USAirways Communications Director Elizabeth Landau and USAir flight attendant Courtney Sardella for helping with this.
Finally, Denise Flaim has put up the most recent Vivi posters available for download and printing on http://newsday.typepad.com/news_local_flaim
Thanks to Denise and everyone else who is helping!

Whatever happened to that sticky bait mentioned here wen we were talking about trapping probably in early March? What are the ingredients of it?- perhaps like what the trappers of the poodle used. It seems to me the people who captured those dogs weren't just watching and waiting but creating specific feeding areas. Perhaps the area she frequents can be made smaller with these.
not sticky -stiNky. too early
So Why are they not trying this "STINKY BAIT" Technique? I have asked about it very many times, never got an answer.. So why not get the experienced "BAITER" here with a case of beer and let them do their thing... Sounds logical no?
They may have to file suit to get answers. Delta employees would be forced to testify. Of course no one can force them to tell the truth. Otherwise clearly they are anticipating a lawsuit and will stonewall until the last minute. A suit won't help Vivi and might not actually be heard for months or years but it might hold them accountable in some way and get some answers for those traveling with dogs in the future.
I did ask Bo about the special bait -- he said that they cannot use it in the city areas because the smell is too strong -- there would be complaints from residents and people working there. Also, he said it would attract too many other animals.
Can somebody out there explain to me what exactly are the BIG expenses that the owners have? They are in Calif.Does answering e-mails cost $? Does having an atty that offered her help pro bono cost $? And why is the $ sent to Bobbi and the Strays going thru Honi's hands? Is this $ being sent to Calif? If so, why? As far as I know, none of the locals have ever received a dime from the Bobbi and the Strays acct. The only $ doled out to the locals was from the private fund set up weeks ago.And posters and flyers have been DONATED by all of you caring people nationwide on this blog. Something is not right here. Anybody have the answers to these questions?
Attack me if you want...all I know is...I am not an idiot and when I feel as if I am being duped, I ask questions.
AMEN, AUDREY!!
I have had the same exact questions for a long while. Thank you for finally asking what needs to be asked...
Irene Wilson
I'm not sure we know all their expenses, or all of the things they have tried doing.
The owners really do not need to explain to us their big expenses. Expenses can also mean loss of wages, etc. while they were here searching. There are many factors to consider and that would all come out after a lawsuit is commenced. I hope this explains things alittle for you.
I am just as frustrated as the rest of you. I want her caught and soon, her time is running out. I personaly feel it's time to bring out the big guns and if that means hiring the burly guys to come up here than so be it. We can keep sending posters, flyers, etc. and have sighting after sighting and for what? Nothing is being done where she is sighted. From what I read everthing has to be cleared by Honi. So other than the owners putting Honi in charge who is to blame here? What is Honi's credientials in all this? Schooling, degrees, experience? As for Delta..forget it..you won't hear from them until a lawsuit is filed, and after that it could take another 5 yrs if the airlines is still in business by than.
The "burly" guys sound like the right fit. Down to basic techniques, a bigger trap sounds very logical. Probably wouldn't look closed in like a crate and very basic bait food. If they know of places Vivi is going, then they could leave a tasty food trail. This is an outside the box idea that apparently worked. Everything has to be considered. This poodle was covering miles also.
As for Delta, I won't say what I think. The words aren't fit to print.
To all you good people here, stay off the Bo on Delta blog, it appears to have become the CPF blog unless of course your interested in hearing more crap :-)
Well, I still think it's the owners' call as to how they want to handle this. They don't owe us any explanations of what they do or what expenses they have had. We have volunteered our time and money to assist, but that doesn't give us any rights as far as information or decisionmaking. I don't think we know the total extent of what they have tried and what they have done. I don't think we are entitled to know that. Our job is to lend support in any way we can. I am as frustrated as all of you that Vivi has not been recaptured. But that still doesn't make her our dog.
I just have to add this before I get back to work. Beth I agree with you totally. But this is not going to stop the same people who have been helping to find Vivi with CONDITIONS. They will never change, for some reason they want to go in that direction which does not find or catch Vivi.
Brian has tried to deter the posters from going in that direction and it does not help.
So kudos to you for seeing the BIG PICTURE and not being so small.
If the owners care or don't care is not the concern of anyone unless they are looking to compare who does more. It's very childish
Siri-Calif
I'm sick if reading these statments as a lot of other fine people that I have met on this blog. So I will continue to light candles and pray for Vivi and work with the stray dog in Los Angeles
Re: the "burly" guys method of capture.....
This exact method has been suggested through various channels and on numerous occasions since day #1. I am somewhat taken aback that it appears today as some sort of revelation in capturing a lost dog, at least as it pertains to Vivi. Talk about the difference between hearing and listening......
Over the last month or so, I've been closely following the Greytalk sight, which has postings of lost greyhounds which, like whippets, are sighthounds. Some are lost in residential areas, some in rural areas, and some in very remote areas (such as the poor greyhound that fell off a transport along a highway and hasn't been seen since). What I have learned in monitoring this sight is that it is next to impossible to set out to catch a sighthound. On some occasions, where there isn't a lot of food around, some of the dogs are able to be trapped with a large humane trap. On other occasions, the dog will decide to go up to someone. In most cases, there are sightings, such as what we have with Vivi. In all cases, however, it requires a tremendous amount of commitment and some amount of luck to recover these animals. So, in light of what I have read from those who deal with these dogs, our best hope is that Vivi somehow decides to trust someone or gets caught in a yard. I don't think a trapper, or burly guy running around Queens will be at all effective. It's a very, very hard reality to face and I hate the feeling of having no control over the outcome. However, I feel that posting contact information is our best chance that someone will let us know she is alive and still out there.
I understand what you are saying and have been very supportive of the owners, always. Just in this one post I just don't get why these two cases were posted as examples of how to catch a dog apparently when both were trapped using food. The logic doesn't follow. It doesn't seem like
what is being done here. I am sure that stinky food could be put in a vacant lot where it won't bother humans and yes in order to attract a dog to food others will be attracted. I am sure that was the case here in these two exapmples too. I wish instead of posting successfully trapping or catching animals using food we have expamples of how hanging posters and waiting for a dog to act on its own worked. No?
I meant to add both were caught by professionals too.
I can't put the blame on anyone here as to who did what, decision etc. as I'm not there to see if it's true. I can say there were many opinions thrown around, some good some bad, and we do have the right to offer those even though she is not our dog. Unfortunatly, the longer she is a stray the worse it will be. I will not condemn any of these people that have worked so hard. I don't know of any other city where the people have come out like Tina, Rosa, Diane, Darlene, Irene and countless others to try and help in anyway they can and I'm sure the ball won't be dropped no matter which way this turns. The people with all the "bright ideas" are not the one's in the forefront so I wouldn't worry about them over stepping their bounds with the owners. As far as Brian is concerend he has been more than generous as countless others have been but he is not god and I'm sure prone to mistakes as the rest of us are. He offers his opinions just as all the others that some may be sick of reading but this is a blog and open to the public so that alone will draw many different personalities.
For the rest of us...we sit and wait and pray..this will all come to end eventually..I hope it has a happy ending.
I'm not helping you any more - not with money, fliers, or predictions. I’ve lived in the Ozarks, accompanied my husband on deer hunts, read and studied tracking and trained for search and rescue. And the methods they use will locate Vivi and bring her home with food.
You guys are mean spirited and ugly. There are many animals in my area for me to help and love and capture - I have given my best in suggestions from the very beginning.
The powers that be are setting you guys up to take the fall for their failure to implement a proper rescue plan - from day-one their methods failed.
They try to make you out as being stupid – that you can’t bring Vivi in – and you can and certainly will do a better job of it than the type enticed by the $5000 reward.
It is a big concern that there is a complete lack of love for Vivi on the fliers. And your cut-throat quasi tough talk and banter – is not helpful.
Surround everyone in light and make posters and do nothing pro-active to find that little dog and then there are plenty of post applauding your efforts and thousands of thanks from spies and plants that don't want her located.
She is going to die out there – die from the elements, from the dog-flu, from rat poison, from heart worms, from anti-freeze, from an accident, from attack or fights by stronger dogs over territory or over food or over a warm spot – if some decent effort is not made to bring her home.
Now pat each other on the back and send hate-mail and whatever else your little minds can think of and loose Vivi forever.
Well, now. That's helpful.
Beth I hear what your saying..but I gotta say to sit and wait till someone catches her in their yard and locks the gate is a long shot. Most people kick out a feral dog if it's found in their yard do to their children or possible diseases the dog may have or they have a dog of their own they want to protect. Case in point, the man who was feeding her bread and wanted to catch her and his girlfriend who thought she looked sick. Out of all of these cases we have read the past few days, not one of these dogs were captured by just walking into a yard and having the gate shut.
CPF,
No, I disagree with you that she is going to die out there.
I will continue to believe that she will be our little miracle girl and find her way into a situation that will allow her to go back to Ca.
Good luck with your work in the Ozarks.
Bye
But trapping a single dog in Queens, New York -- particularly a sighthound -- I think is next to impossible, realistically. It would likely take hundreds of thousands of dollars.
I just sold some stock and my conformation # is.....4VV 1217!
Hey CPF...the full moon isn't until the 13th crawl back in your hole your early.
I think Bo is just sharing a couple stories with us. I don't think they are necessarily they procedure that will work with Vivi.
Ok Linda NH, I don't get it, lol.
Siri-Calif 11:22 am
:-) Agreed.
P.S.
Too bad she got lost in Queens - if she had been lost in CA - me and my friends would have gotten our boar hunting husbands together to loacte her little trails and entice her in - I guess you all just don't have the right contacts for all your tough talk -
Re Honi/Bobbi & The Strays:::Honi is Fund Manager, thats why the money goes through her hands. I got a thank you letter from Bobbie & The Strays, thanking me for my money and it was signed by Honi as Fund Manager. The first money I sent was sent to Paul and then sent on to Bobbi etc. This is just to asnwer one of Aubrey's questions at 9:54..If any of you want me to post the thank you letter, I'll be happy to. The lertter does state: "Any portion of the money not used to cover the costs for this search, (Vivi), will be donated to Bobbi...etc..etc
MaryL-California
Siri and Ko.....if someone donates $ to a cause, they have a right to know where it is going. Same goes for the charity. By law, they must disclose this info. And submit a financial report to the Atty Gen.
None of the locals here in NY have "conditions".They are looking for a stray dog displaced 3,000 miles from home in one of the biggest hellholes on this planet. NYC.So until the 2 of you get on a plane and see the logistics and impossibilities of what is going on here, you both really should talk amongst yourselves because your ideas and suggestions are of no help to us.
CPF is saying she lives in California? Well hot damn, and yet another fable.
MaryL-California
She's dying out there - and you guys bitch and moan and throw darts at each other. You're idiots! Kudo's to CPF - I live in CA and my husband would help too - we'd have that puppy back by nightfall.
Let's raise money to bring Noname and CPF and their boar hunting husbands to New York so we can all thankfully be done with this in one day. What a relief that will be.
Ok now I owe Just Paul another $.50.
Here we go again. This too will pass I suppose.
Oh boy...here we go again!
Darn it Vivi! Where are you?
Karen, I'll pay your fine gladly! (o;
MaryL-California
Hey - you gals need some help. We'll just load up our sons and a six pack and be right up. We can teach you New Yorkers a thing or two about hunting that hound.
Doubt if anyone with any sense will help - not from the cat-fighting that goes on - or should I say - dog-fighting. Now you go have a nice day. Only one we feel sorry for - is that little hound stuck with you all - pretty pathetic.
Changing the subject, but this is gooood! This is a copy and paste email from the gal, Linda who told us about the JRT's who were taken out of a truc/car recently and found. I sent the emails all around the areas, my friend in Alabama got this back::::
Yes they are found last night! Someone contacted the owners, as I do not own them.. I just cross posted it to the Beagle list for the owner who is a friend of mine.
Re the JRT's:
Seems the one of the crates has a Airline shipping label on it and the person who had the dogs call that number and in turn the owners were called.. We don't think that the people who had the dogs were the ones who stole them as they said they were sold to them by some young men.. Police will be investigating.. in Charlotte NC where the show was.. The dogs are back in VA with their owners..
Hope this helps..
Linda
Hey no name , she's dying out there ? Are you kidding me ? If you and your husband are so talented why don't you rescue ALL the dogs missing? You'd probably make lots of $. Saying something so extreme is not very respectful to those out there doing so much for Vivi. I'll admit to being scared of that when it was winter but she got through it somehow . I have COMPLETE faith that she'll be captured and thats because of the wonderful volunteers out there ... and because I don't let things that idiots choose to say get me down. Just thought you should know , Vivi is not dying at all , we have lots of people to share the love for her, and that will keep her and us going until it's time for her to go home...
Ok now we are getting somewhere. Sounds like we have more nameless boar hunters on their way. Queens are you ready for this? Everyone stand back.
MaryL that one's for you!
Noname, nolife, nosense: I beg to differ..she is not dying...she has survived over 8 weeks out there.
Don't be foolish - AUDREY, Siri and I said nothing like what you just wrote. Now.......Beth said something like that "Beth Thompson | April 11, 2006 at 11:08 AM" did you mean your note for her?.......see here Diane "no one had any right to their opinons on this blog". Beth said above "doesn't give us any rights as far as information or decision making. I don't think we know the total extent of what they have tried and what they have done. I don't think we are entitled to know that." end quote! Siri didn't even imply a thing about the money you claim ownership of and an accounting for it as you all seem to think appropriate...but I believe Beth does and we agreed with Beth....Hmmmmm what is wrong with THIS picture. Beth is part of the clique right? Did you type the same note to Beth? Did you disagree with her statements?
I posted that yesterday about the JRTs. It was my impression that those who said they bought the dogs were in on the scheme and probably the "Motel 6 security guard" as well. Glad they got them back and I hope ther wil be no more dogs sleeping in trucks in motel parking lots if at all possible.
Linda in NH - that's kind of eery! Terrie
Hey Poker - where you from? Stop by Springfield on the way - we'll load up the Van - should be able to Flush that baby out in no time. Could use the reward money - buy some beer and hotdogs - cook 'em up in Central Park.
Those females ain't ladies - that's for sure. They talk trash. Who says big city folks are smart - can't even catch a little hound.
Karen, get ready for working on your stand-up routines. Looks like we're losing the blog again to egos. More important that everyone gets the last word in, than that Vivi is found and something constructive and positive gets done here right? Terrie
Karen, I didn't see your post yesterday about the letter about the JRT's..I did see that they had been found tho..(o: I just got the email from my Alabammy friend..
and:::::::::::I have put on my hunting hat and my special vest to keep me from getting mauled by a boar, or is it a bore? snort..I borowed my daughter's skanky pickup truck, put my rifle in the back window and I am on a mission, wink, wink! Yahooooooo
MaryL-California
Oh my, I see the natives are restless again. People, remember, this is the so-called big city, not small town USA. What would work in the Ozarks sure as hell isn't going to work in NYC. This is the dumping ground for unwanted pets, both dogs and cats. There is no vacant lot to put the bait, there is no area that we can openly put a trap without somebody sitting in their car 24/7 to watch and protect it. No, if any of you out-of-towners want to come to NY to help with the search, by all means come join us. We're not exactly have a lot of fun. We've put our own pesonal lives on hold to the extent we can to help locate this precious pup, not because she's ours, not because she's a show dog, not because she comes from California, but because she is here and she needs our help. When she's found she will be given whatever medical treatment she requires, she will be handed over to her owner and she will be on her way back home. We will have a party to celebrate her safe return and then we will go back to our lives. That's it - end of story - until another poor animal needs our help.
I love the people that are all talk behind the keyboard and have not one good suggestion to offer. To them I say Get A Life.
To those who have been assisting in their own way, I say thank you very much, we greatly appreciate all your help, prayers and kind wishes.
Just remember one thing, she is a sighthound, she has been known to catch her own food and she's very resourceful. It's possible she's found one of the many feeding stations set up by people in various neighborhoods to fed stray cats. Dogs love cat food.
To the person who tried to send a trojan virus my way, my IP is tracking you down.
I'm going back to my corner now.
Hey I'm ready.
Brian, alert the press re: The Boar hunters march on New York. Don't let the children out.
Hey LouLou:
Man - California's don't know crap about hunting. You want to go hunting - go to Berryville or drop down to the swamps - now that's meaner than those city gals every thought about being - they'd be peeing themselves running for cover before they could spit one more insult on each other.
Pick you up on the way kiddo.
Don't worry about the Boar Hunters. One sight of them in NYC and the NYPD Hercules Team will be all over them like flies on you know what.
Them's fightin'words
Diane, things are getting nastier by the minute. I hope they find the person who tried to send you a virus. Holy crapola people, stick to the program, don't destroy this blog by going after it's people with a Trojan virus! We need to vent, words are good! What we need most of all is for one of you big mouth's who say everything is being done WRONG, to find Vivi, return her to her folks and donate the reward money to a cause you prefer..
MaryL-California
Hey PokerJune -
My man and his buddies wouldn't mess with those broads - those females would skip the hex, slice off the men's balls, and skewer them for lunch. Nasty-mouthed snake tongued barely passing for females - skunks more like it.
We got more sense down here than to mess with skunks. Can't get nothing but sprayed on by those foul mouthed broads - hey email me private so we can chat about it - I need a good laugh.
So...I see everyone is busy as bees making flyers and posters etc. we do want the boar hunters to know exactly where to go, and I'm sure if they can't figure it out those New Yorkers will certainly tell them where to go. :-)
Let's just hope Bo doesn't take all this crap seriously and if he does don't worry about it Bo the New Yorkers have it under control they've delt with worse nuts than this I'm sure.
Why do you all start these big fights?
No one has actually said you have done anything wrong......I don't believe. They just get tired of hearing that everyone in NYC has the answer and no one has Vivi yet. What's been said is, 'respect the owners wishes', and 'consider the point that all your efforts thus far have failed' to bring her back and maybe actually read ideas that are posted or again ‘listen to the owners’. POSTING flyers and getting the word out is very beneficial and what the professionals recommended you do locally with your time, and is consistently hard work for NYC volunteers; no one is disputing that fact. No one has any intent of 'telling you (any of you) what to do other than maybe Jil, Paul or Bo telling you and they do have some legal rights here. Consider for a moment: If I help a child on the street and it dies in the process of my 'help' and I was told not to do specific things (in this case) am I liable for the my actions if they cause hard to the child rather than save the child's life? Probably. I'll let your legal eagles on here comment on that.
You guys are so disgusting - I won't help and I'm not sending a dime to pay for the owner's expenses. Any help the blogg could be - your idiocy alientates so many people that you deserve what you get.
Poor Vivi her fate at the hands of the likes of this group.
Hang in there, Diane. I lived in NYC for 3 years and I've never met more resourceful people than those I met in NYC. I also think that, unless you've visited the Queens area, it's hard to imagine how difficult it would be to find one dog (never mind a resourceful dog) there. It's not an easy situation -- note that Sniffles and Biggie, neither of which is a sighthound, still have not been found, either.
As for funds and accounting, I would like to point out that I am not part of the "clique" -- I'm on the West Coast, don't know the owners, don't know Bo, or anyone else involved. Like most of you, I've been trying to help from very far away. I don't have any inside information. Right now, I'm just making posters and offering prayers for Vivi's recovery.
P.S.
You can't get shit for a dog in New York - it is personal property - idiots! You are all idiots!
Beth, there are out of NYC "clique" members prove is in the posting responses. Brian can come on here call NYC volunteers anything he wants and they still tell him he is wonderful..........same with you and Lois.
Idiots - could not find your way out of a paper bag with directions in four languages.
Look up the rules yourself on the web - New York animal capture - rules.
You are just brainswashed into submission and into weakness by your own stupidity. Poor Vivi pays the price.
Doggone it! I have to work today! I would love to post my thoughts on this website but I've got to work today - just lookin' over lunchtime. I was hoping to see if there might be any information relating to Vivi. I'm guessing now is not the time nor is this the place! Ciao for now!
Lois has done such hard work and never said an unkind word about anyone. Brian is forgiven some poorly chosen words because he has done alot too. No one is perfect and as long as we keep the focus where it belongs we can have disagreements without attacking personally, can't we?
My local TV showed the Golden who has finally been "captured" after 2 yrs. on the lam. The thing that most surprised me was the net they used. This has been discussed in our blogs per getting Vivi.
The net is enormous! It is held up something like a tent, 4 or more poles, totally up in the air, they put food inside the area, the dog goes in for a snack and they trigger the net, and the dog is captured, or at least the Golden was. The net still seems heavy to me for a 20# Whippet to be trapped with, but what do I know? I sure wish it would work for Vivi! )o:

The net is a wonderful idea, the key, though, was that Sam was coming back to the same spot for food. At this point, I think Vivi is finding food at various places, which makes it difficult to use a net like this. Sam, the golden retriever, was probably not quite as skilled a hunter as I'm sure Vivi is.
The thing about the net is that like the other methods first she has to establish a regular feeding station or something like that. I still think perhaps near that cemetery. Seems like the two areas she keep returning to are there and College Point.
CAN I JUST GET SERIOUS HERE FOR A MOMENT?
There has just been an F-16 Fighter Jet that has crashed near Luke Air Force Base, which is almost in my back yard. Details are sketchy. No word on pilot(s) or injuries to people on the ground. I know some of these people flying up there today. Please join me in prayer right now. I'm driving the short distance there to look for my neighbor whose husband is a pilot.
Beth@2:07..I realize she needs to eat in the same area all the time, as per talk sometime ago and Karen's post just under yours..I just WISH..sigh..
Just throwing out a few idea's and hopes. If the volunteers have sighted Vivi around the same area's, maybe theres a chance of getting her..again, I WISH..

I also got a nice thank you letter signed by Honi.
and that's why I was thinking stinky bait or something homemade that's like that, because it seems like it needs to be something that stands out from the others. I know it isn't THE solution but it seems relatively harmless. I thought it had been used but they were just out of it. Why not put it out in only one or two places, the same places she has returned to every day. She was in Flushing Cemetery just a few days ago again. I mean helping shape her patterns might be possible, at least over time.
If those in charge wanted Vivi found and brought back unhurt - they'd be doing something positive to bring her back - with Laura or someone equally if not more skilled - even if it took a week.
Wake up and watch who posts what and when. Notice the feel good comments meant to encourage your compliance - and you go along with it - that is what's scary - go guys eat it up. Idiots! Wake up and stop being manipulated.
ANd then watch the posts on other lost animals and biggie and kittens until the energy to confront the failings of the formal search are lost in the sentiments of animals that don't belong on this Vivi Watch.
You wouldn't even know about the sightings if some had not become disgruntled. That's how much they trust you. Nada.
Karen, she was out in Flushing Cemetary again? I must have missed that. I knew she'd been seen around College poing but didn't know she'd backtrackd. Thanks. Terrie
Sooo, what if the Stinky Bait smells? It's not like they are going to put it on someones steps. Lately Vivi seems to be going to parks and quiet places. Why can't it be place in a very large HavaHeart trap and have someone spend the night, waiting for her to get trapped? Damn, I wish I lived in NY, I'd be right there. I wish I could help you great volunteers in NY. I feel so helpless..Please let the people who are looking for Vivi, putting posters out etc., contact Bobbi and use some of the Vivi money to catch the little girl with whatever it takes. No darts, just something that won't hurt her,but will rescue her safely! Ideas, we need ideas that will work, no "no name" and unnamed creeps allowed or no poker playing women..
