Seach coordinator Bonnie Folz asks if any Vivi volunteers would reach out to the New York City Sanitation Department and alert them to the presence of Vivi in the area. She notes that tomorrow is garbage pickup day in this part of Queens, and sanitation workers would be likely to catch Vivi "dumpster diving."

I am on the phone with them now.
Ok, heres the scoop. I called the sanitation department. From Pennsylvaina I cannot DIAL 3-1-1. This is for New York only. SOmeone form New York needs to call and let them know this info. I talktd to NYC police that handle the 5 boroughs in that area. They are now aware of her in that area. Weird that they didnt know.....So please someone form NY call them and report the garbage day and to look for Vivi, in or around dumpsters.
This may be a long shot but why dont you guys try contacting the Guardian Angels? They do foot patrols all over NY and they would more then likely help.
I received more checks today!
C.R. - New Jersey $400.00 ( :)Shadow)
P.G. - Oregon $25.00 (You're welcome & Thank you)
C.B. - New Hampshire $50.00 (My friend has Westies)
P.P. - South Carolina $300.00 (Warm town!)
B.K. - Oregon $50.00 (Is that your pic?)
R.P. - New York $100.00 (We love you Vivi - nice heart :))
M.K. - South Carolina $100.00 (Cute skunk!)
Thank you everyone. I'm thinking those yard signs we can do!
Please someone in NEW YORK call the sanitation dept at 311, and POST that the call has been made etc. I'm in NJ and cannot reach them.
Maybe the Guardian Angel contact isn't a bad idea.
I'm in Michigan right now, but I did find the contact info for them:
The Home Office
The Guardian Angels
717 Fifth Avenue Suite 401
New York, NY 10022
Phone: 212.545.7676
Fax: 212.223.8180
I'll try to e-mail--but a direct call from a New Yorker might be more effective.
The volunteer ambulance corps in that area have also been alerted and are on the lookout...
We are praying for Vivi...
Can't Honi get David Frei to contact city officials and ask them to alert sanitation workers in Queens? A call from David would carry a lot of clout. Meanwhile volunteers could also hand out flyers to the men.
Channel 2 News (CBStv NY) just did a short thing on Vivi with footage of her and said she's been spotted in the Flushing area.
Not sure if this is where I should be posting, but I just finished watching Regis and he was talking about Vivi!
