Thanks to Ryan for his comments on cigarette butts. Those filters are so annoying and never seem to disappear no matter how much rain, snow or wind we have.

I'm glad to see that there are other Long Islanders who find cigarette butts and all trash extremely annoying.
The Town of Hempstead and Nassau County keep talking about their plans to "go green". Why not start a "new" Anti-Littering campaign; all this trash we see pollutes our land/ waterways and kill many forms of wildlife. I think its time for more enforcement of environmental laws.
Why can't TOH/ NC Public Safety Officers write tickets for violating litter ordinances? They already write tickets for enforcement of parking regulations.
Save the taxpayers money and use violators to then pick up the trash.
