'Top Chef' and other TV dramas

danny.JPGBravo announced today that Season 5 of 'Top Chef' will be premiering Nov. 12 and that two of the 17 chef’testants are from Long Island: “Richard” hails from Sayville, though he lives in San Diego; “Danny” of New Hyde Park is none other than Daniel Gagnon, one of the chefs at the Babylon Carriage House in Babylon. We’ll be following this closely in the weeks to come.

Now then, if you’d like your own TV show, consider auditioning for Season 5 of The Next Food Network Star. The network will be holding open auditions in Manhattan on Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sutton Place, 1015 2nd Ave., between 53rd and 54th streets. Or, you have until Friday, Oct. 31, to send in a three-minute audition video explaining why you should be on TV. For details, go to Food Network’s Web site.

Chefs who wish to be abused by Gordon Ramsay on the next season of Hell’s Kitchen should report to the same location (Sutton Place, 1015 2nd Ave.) on Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for open auditions. Or, e-mail hellskitchen@theconlincompany.com, or call 866-226-2226, for more information. (Note: This audition is not for chefs who wish to be abused by Gordon Ramsay on the next season of Kitchen Nightmares.)
