"Green" Chipotle at new Tanger Outlets in Deer Park

chipotle.jpgWhen the Tanger Outlet at the Arches in Deer Park debuts next Thursday, so will a new "green" Chiptole Mexican Grill. This one, though, will be "greener" than the others, as the company’s first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) restaurant on the East Coast.

What that means is that the place will implement state-of-the-art sustainable building principles in both its architecture and resource use, going beyond what the other restaurants are already doing. The national chain also serves naturally and humanely raised pork, beef and chicken and sources much of its produce from local and organic farms. Dairy products are hormone-free.

Sounds like a place to eat both well and with a conscience before spending half your salary on a bag from Neiman Marcus Last Call or a pair of shoes from the Kenneth Cole outlet store.

Chipotle Mexican Grill is located at 1090 The Arches Circle, Tanger Outlet at the Arches, Deer Park, 631-586-0634.
