Gourmands and gluttons will have to search elsewhere for the endless supper; East Buffet in Huntington closed because of a fire earlier this month. The Asian palace of pig-outs (loved their Peking duck) had been at the center of a smoldering labor-management dispute for years now. Often, customers had to cross a picket line to get in.
Three years ago, I spent an entire evening at East, sampling the nonstop food, watching and talking to people as they implemented strategies and piled their plates high (click here to read about the experience). It was a night I won't forget.
