A mere $42 (the cost of an entrée at some restaurants) is what you pay for a trip across Great South Bay along with a seaside dinner in this summer’s Taste of Fire Island deal.
Here’s what you get:
• Parking at the Fire Island Ferry docks
• Ferry trip to and from Ocean Beach
• Three-course prix-fixe dinner at either Maguire’s Bayfront Restaurant, Houser’s Hotel & Hideaway, Island Mermaid or Matthew’s Seafood House.
The special is available Monday to Thursday nights only; tax and gratuities aren't included but live music often is.
So are sunsets - with a little cooperation from Mother Nature. Careful not to have so much fun that you miss the last ferry back to Bay Shore at 11:05 p.m.
