Epsiode 5: Quote of the Week

By Mark La Monica

Ari Gold had the top three quotes this week, but unfortunately, they don't qualify for Best Printable Line because of the discretionary language clause.

It's a clause we struggle with weekly. The reality of it is sort of upsetting, but such is life on a family Web site. And besides, at least they don't edit the actual show.

So, this week, we see Johnny Drama return to the leaderboard as he attempts to defend his Big Knish Award as winner of the Best Printable Line pennant race last season.

Vince just bought each of boys their own Aston Martin. Not a bad gift just for being friends with the biggest movie star in town.

As they're all about to get into their cars to drive to a meeting with Ari, Vince wonders if they'll look like a bunch of schmucks driving three cars.

Drama responds: "We'd look like schmucks in Jettas. In Aston Martins, we look good."

I have to watch it again to be sure, but after Drama says his chipping looks like Tiger Woods I think E's response was "No you look more like my niece at Nunleys". If that is what he said it has to get the nod for best line due to the local nature of the comment.

I agree with Tim above, E drops the 'Nunley's' reference during the golf scene.

Great quote, but I think you had to grow up on the south shore of nassau county to get that joke.

Maybe if they throw in a reference to Adventure Land or United Skates of America that line will win best printable quote.

I agree with the above two statements whole heartedly. As a Freeport boy, Nunley's was a major part of my childhood. I actually rewound the episode twice to make sure my ears heard what E had said. Thank you Doug Ellin, Merrick boy born and bred, for dropping a little hometown reference.

Yeah, it was:

"No, you look more like my six year old niece at Nunleys Drama." Or something very similar.

I don't even live in the States so i obviously don't know the place but it brought back memories of crazy golf in my youth and made me chuckle anyway.

I'm going to have to agree about the Nunley's reference. I also hit rewind to hear it twice. As a displaced Oceanside girl living in Florida, my vote is always going to be for the local reference, especially when it's Nunley's. That being said; Drama's "Jetta" line was pretty funny and Ari's line about being out to get popcorn cracked me up too. Truth be told, I giggled through the whole show.

This was a great episode, but I thought the best line/hand gesture of the show was Ari's after Vinnie confirmed that Turtle required a sit-down:
"I'm going to Equinox. I'll be at the juice bar-- triple-berry smoothies on me," followed by what was basically the homerun/around-the-horn gesture. That was hilarious and I ended up re-watching that scene about 8 times.

I thought this was the best episode of the season. Great lines all over the place!

Does anyone know the song that is played on the ending credits of this most recent episode?

Title and rapper?
Thx
SuperD

The song is "Hip Hop" by Dead Prez

I think Ari's finger-round-in-a-circle gesture is a reference to John Candy's "Three Orange Whips" move from "Blues Brothers."

Best line was when Paul Haggis came over and they're discussing Vince gaining weight for the Medillan role, comparing him to Deniro and Clooney in Raging Bull and Syriana. The line is:

Drama - Or like Johnny Drama in an episode of The Commish, when I played that anorexic pedophile.

Does anyone know what the plans are for the upcoming season? Love it!
