Dave Price the next host of "The Price is Right?" Let's just take that little question mark away and make this official: Dave Price will be the next host of "Price is Right." Since Bob Barker announced his retirement from the show on Halloween day - he'll leave the longest-running-daytime-show-in-history next June - there's been speculation that weatherguy Price will be anointed his replacement. CBS has deflected the speculation, calling it premature (or at least to Page Six, which first reported the Price-to-"Price" rumors back in early November.) But I've learned from a source that it's definite. Price will continue to be one of "The Early Show" anchors - no surprise because he just signed a new contract and is considered a key to the morning show's success - but he'll also pre-tape "Price" episodes from Los Angeles. I hear he'll handle "Early" from Monday through Thursday, then fly to the coast for the game show tapings on Friday. The arrangement sounds awkward but is hardly unprecedented: Meredith Vieira missed last week's "Today" hosting duties while she wrapped up her season commitment to "Who Wants to be a Millionaire."

Three words: Not gonna happen. It's only speculation because Dave is buddy-buddy with the head honcho. Other qualified candidates should be allowed to audition, and personally I'd rather see a person who has a genuine love for the show become the next host. Which is why I'd love to see the torch passed on to current announcer Rich Fields

I don't know that Page Six was the first place to speculate on Dave Price taking over The Price is Right.
Not to toot my own horn but here is an excerpt from my blog back on Feb. 17, 2006 in a column about the Top 14 Game Shows of All Time..
"Are you ready for my pick to succeed Bob Barker? (And they’re gonna keep the show running post Bob since it makes so much money)… The weather guy from the CBS Morning Show… Dave Price.. Pun intended. I don’t watch him that early in the AM on CBS, but I remember when he was on Channel 5 how wacky and crazy he used to be, and he just might have what it takes to take over a game show…. Although replacing Barker may be impossible. Just ask NBC when Pat Sajak quit the network version of Wheel of Fortune and was replaced by………….. Rolf Bernirschke!"

I think it makes as much sense as Troy Aikman hosting Masterpiece Theater. How about making Dan Patrick the host of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire."
DOUG DAVIDSON SHOULD BE THE NEXT HOST. HE HOSTED THE NIGHT TIME VERSION YEARS AGO AND DID AN AWESOME JOB. DAVE PRICE DOES NOT FIT THE BILL, SORRY.

How about Richard Karn? He finished hosting The Family Feud in 2006.
Price seems to be a nice enough guy and could be a good pick. I still favor George Hamilton myself.
Im gonna miss bob, but i dont think price is the right host! my opinion surely goes to HOWIE MANDEL! hes funny the people love im on DEAL or NO DEAL. well thats my thoughts,

what about John O'Hurley? I heard Mario Lopez's name come up too but can't see that.
I will really miss Bob and the show will never be quite the same, but i think John O'Hurley would be really great as Bob's replacement
I vote for Chuck Woolery. He's got vast experience and it would certainly be a better gig for him that that lame show, LINGO.
I think it should be open to unknown talents as well. It would be a great story that CBS has created such an opportunity. After all...that is what Price Is Right is all about. Appealing to the DREAM!!!
If Rosie O'Donnell becomes host of The Price Is Right none of my family nor myself will watch it again, my daughters said guess I won't be watching Price Is Right anymore then I asked her why. Rosie is a filthy loud mouthed,insulting manish person, if they want a man put a man on as host, I can think of several men I would rather have on instead of her. I have watched Price Is Right for years before I do house work or yard work, then when it is over I start to work. I never have watched any show she has been on. She is aggresive. The ladies I used to work with eat out each month and none of them like her either and I heard my sisters talking against her when she was on the Barbara Walters show. Price is Right will lose a lot of watchers. I hope she isn't the new host.

I have watched Price is Right ever since it began with Bill Cullen, when I wasn't at work. Please, please don't give the job to Rosie O'Donnell, that would be the end of the show. She is unAmerican. John O'Hurley would be an ideal host. Be very very careful.

I think John O'Hurley is the best candidate for the Price Is Right. Not only he is good looking, humourous, and has a great personality with people, he also has "CLASS", just like Bob Barker. No one else could fit the bill. He would be the person that people of ALL ages would watch!

i think dave price would make the show interesting and a fresh new face would be nice. dave is a nice guy and he keeps it real and down to earth.
If you want to kill the price is right then have ROSIE O'DONNEL host the show into it's fast death!
