Feist's "The Reminder," featuring the surprise hit "1234," wins this year's Shortlist Prize, as the best album of 2007 that has not yet gone gold.

"It’s modern and classic all at once," said judge Gary Lightbody, of Snow Patrol. "There are so many kinds of beauty in this record."

Feist was chosen out of 10 finalists, over albums from Arcade Fire, Burial, Justice, LCD Soundsystem, M.I.A., Spoon, Stars, Wilco and Working for a Nuclear Free City
