UGK's Pimp C found dead

UGK feat. OutKast, "International Players Anthem (I Choose You)"

UGK rapper Pimp C was found dead in his bed by police in Los Angeles this morning, according to a spokeswoman for the rapper. No cause of death has been released. Pimp C, whose real name was Chad Butler, was 33.

Manager Rick Martin asked in a statement that everyone please respect his family and those close to him at this time and refrain from rumors and innuendo. A full statement is expected later this afternoon.

The Houston-based UGK, which also features rapper Bun B, was in the midst of a comeback this year. Its double album "UGK" (Jive) debuted at No. 1 in August and the hit "International Players Anthem" was one of the year's standout singles. He was previously best known for appearing on Jay-Z's hit "Big Pimpin'."
