Duran Duran hits Broadway

Duran

It's a different take on musical theater: Duran Duran will commandeer Manhattan's Barrymore Theatre in November for a nine-night run of concerts to celebrate the release of its new album, "The Red Carpet Massacre," due Nov 13.

The nine shows are scheduled for Nov. 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 12. Tickets go on sale Saturday at 9 a.m. through Live Nation, www.livenation.com.

The Barrymore is usually reserved for serious dramas -- there's a new Mamet work scheduled there for December -- but don't expect any heavy monologues from Duran Duran. The first single from the album, "Falling Down," was co-written and produced by Justin Timberlake.
