She's got Betsey Johnson eyes

I've long been a fan of Betsey Johnson. Not so much for her clothing (hey, I'm a dude, although I do admire seeing women wearing her work), but rather for her insanity when it comes to the music she chooses for her runway shows at Fashion Week in Bryant Park.

Crazy remixes that can't even be explained, no matter how many times we try to figure it out. Better to just list a few here and let you deal with them.

- The reggae beat from Sean Paul's "I'm Still In Love With You" with the lyrics from Queen's "We Will Rock You."

- A ramped-up hard rock beat with a slight techno infusion mixed with the lyrics from "Candy Shop" by rapper 50 Cent.

- Madonna's "Holiday" instrumental with the lyrics from "Milkshake" by hip-hopper Kelis (wife of Nas.)

See, insane stuff. So we're hoping to hear similar musical treats this Sunday (July 27) from 3-5 p.m. when Betsey Johnson sneak peeks her new eyewear collection at grueneyes at 10 Main St. in East Hampton.

Here comes Super Saturday

The annual Super Saturday designer garage sale, happening this Saturday (July 26), is one of those perfect Hamptons events - great deals for a great cause in the great outdoors, with bargain hunters elbow-to-elbow with Kelly Ripa and other celebs.

"You turn around and see Molly Sims or Barbara Walters or your neighbor - everyone is fighting for the cool Donna Karan dress or Vera Wang gown," says Faith Kates Kogan, president of the nonprofit Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, which receives all proceeds.

The event, underwritten by Karan for 11 years, takes over a field in Water Mill. It's pricey but if you're a good little shopper, you'll make back the investment in minutes. Expect tents and tables filled with gear from more than 200 designers - including Michael Kors, Carolina Herrera, Catherine Malandrino, Diane von Furstenberg, and stores such as Saks and Henri Bendel, all at deep discounts - plus carnival rides, buffet lunch, fortune tellers, manicures and more. "It's the coolest event of the year," says Kogan. "And you can come in flip-flops."

- Joseph V. Amodio

Details

Where: Nova's Ark Project, 60 Millstone Rd., Water Mill
Tickets: Adults, $450 (shop 1-6 p.m.), $650 (includes exclusive preview shopping at noon); kids, ages 5 to 16, $150; younger than 5, free. Purchase at ocrf.org or call London Misher Public Relations, 212-759-2800.

P.S. Can't make it to the Hamptons? Enjoy Super Saturday discounts from the comfort of your couch when QVC broadcasts live from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. (Or shop during July at qvc.com.) All proceeds benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Items up for grabs on QVC include Earnest Sewn jeans (dark wash super high-rise, medium wash boot-cut and cigarette leg, about $99), Invicta's stainless-steel multifunction ladies' watch ($247.50) and a sassy, gold Felix Rey metal mesh bag ($97.50).

Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson in East Hampton

Quick, quick, draw your own conclusions and assume all the tabloid rumors you've heard are true. Quick, do it now and then you'll be the awesomest person in your office.

Grab a towel and wipe the sarcasm off the screen now. Here's a pic of Lindsay Lohan and guest DJ Samantha Ronson at Singer22.com event at Lily Pond in East Hampton on July 19. Earlier that night, they attended a clambake hosted by Nicky Hilton at Grey Goose Manor in East Hampton. Bravo "Top Chef" finalist Cynthia Sestito catered the clambake, which was sponsored by Blue & Cream.

Readers share their favorite Hamptons hot spots

About two weeks ago, we were doling out free copies of the new multisex chick lit book "How the Other Half Hamptons" in exchange for hearing your favorite places in the Hamptons to share with our readers.

We had 10 books. We got 10 responses. In close to 10 minutes. OK, more like 10 hours, but you get the point. The books were flying out of here and I'm sure our postal folks were none too happy with the added weight in their bags.

Anywho (God, I hate that word!), here we go with the readers' favorite places.

"I’m in the Hampton’s every weekend!!! My favorite restaurant is Suki Zuki in Water Mill and the shopping is great in all the little towns. The Shoe-Inn in East Hampton…GREAT shoes!"

- Julie P., Moriches

"The Duck Walk Vineyard is my favorite place in the Hamptons. It’s where my husband proposed to me at sunset! How romantic."

- Dawn F., Lindenhurst

"The White House. It's an awesome club the music is great, people are hot and the drinks are amazing! Talk about a hot spot in the Hamptons. This is one of them!!!"

- Greg C., Bay Shore

"My favorite place in the Hamptons? Well that's hard to pinpoint. Simply put, the beaches of the Hamptons are some of the most serene I've seen the world over and the buzz of the atmosphere that fills the Hamptons beach air is intoxicating! If I had to narrow it down, my two favorite Hamptons beaches would have to be Two Mile Hollow and Main Beach."

- Lisa R., Moriches

"Main Street in East Hampton - I just love the shops and restaurants! I can spend an entire afternoon walking back and forth - and I have!! Golden Pear!"

- Karen D., Lake Success

"I love to nothing more to hang out at the Montaukett after a day at the beach. Being there with friends and getting amaretto sours from the outside bar, what a way to watch the sun go down. Very cool vibe when the place fills up just before the sun drops from sight. Then it's off to a BBQ at our house on the lake, but that location is top secret!"

- Brendan C., Manhattan

"Well, one thing is pizza (I love World Pie). I work as a telecommunications tech in the wireless field and found myself working the East End. I'm from western Suffolk, and for a drive that takes about 40 minutes, it makes me feel like I drove into another state. Great shops, great produce, the color of the ocean is breathtaking. Nothing like a quick getaway from one end to another."

- Maurice R., West Babylon

"Montauk is considered the 'un-Hamptons.' The Surf Lodge and hanging out on the rocks by the lighthouse is the most relaxing and enjoyable day a Long Islander can spend on the East End."

- James D., Medford

"My wife and I love going to social events and promotions at the W Hamptons Hideaway."

- Thomas S., White Plains

"The Dockside in Sag Harbor. The food is amazing, the bar is well tended, a very nice collection of the locals, with a great view of the breakwater. Nick's in Montauk, Again, a wonderful view if you eat on the the upstairs deck, great mudslides at the bar downstairs, ALWAYS a good band. This place rocks. Nichol's in East Hampton, great service, excellent bloody Mary's, (Although Spinnakers in Sag Harbor has the absolute best Bloodies), food is always good."

Strange math, eh?

Not tonight, at least. At 7 p.m., Ne-Yo takes the state at The Estate in Bridgehampton for the VH1 Summer Of Soul Concert. Solange Knowles, yes B's sister, will also perform. It's the raise some luchini for the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. Tickets are available at the door for $600. The under-30 crowd gets a hefty $300 discount.

Word on the street is there might be a few other attendees, and maybe, just maybe, get inspired to take the mike:

Saddle up, folks, it's polo season!

Howdy, partners. It's that time of year (in that other time of year) again.

The time when people ooh and ahh at other people on horseback commanding those horses to run around while they swing a big stick at a small ball.

In other words, the Bridgehampton Polo season starts on Saturday.

Tournaments go down every Saturdays from July 19th thru August 23rd on Hayground Road in Water Mill at 4 p.m.

General admission tickets are available that for $20 per car. All proceeds benefit the South Fork Breast Health Coalition. The VIP tent is reserved for sponsors and their invited guests only. For information on private field-side tailgate tents, please call 212-420-9420 x29

Here's a little sample video of the polo world from last season in the Hamptons.

Samantha Ronson at Lily Pond

This invite just came across my desk.

Samantha Ronson is DJing Saturday night at Lily Pond in East Hampton. Bring your cameras and your calculators so you can count all the paparazzi staking out the place for pictures of Lindsay Lohan.

Of course, they might be after some snaps of Nicky Hilton, too. Her name is also on the invite.

Lizzie + Hamptons + SUV = Still sorta funny

Sure, it's been seven years and nine days since the incident and she served her time accordingly in the eyes of the law, so there's no harm, no foul anymore.

But seeing uber-PR woman Lizzie Grubman roll up into a nightclub in the Hamptons behind the wheel of a huge black SUV is still kinda funny.

Don't misunderstand us here. We're not condemning anyone or trying to talk smack about the situation or the people involved. No doubt it was a horrifying experience for those at Conscience Point Inn that night.

We're merely saying that those with good memories will chuckle when they're standing outside a club, see a huge 39-cylinder, 3-mpg SUV calmly pull up to the valet early in the night and then notice who the person is operating the vehicle. They'll chuckle, slyly take a step back regardless of their proximity to the vehicle then chuckle again.

By the way, Grubman's career is fully resurrected and she's reppin' the same A-list clientele.

Where Chris Cuomo was during Hamptons party

<img alt="cuomo.jpg" src="http://weblogs.newsday.com/entertainment/localguide/outeast/blog/cuomo.jpg" width="300" align="left" hspace="5"

Hamptons magazine's new Editor-in-Chief Cristina Greeven Cuomo, left, and Publisher Debra Halpert feted this week's cover girl, Beth Ostrovsky, with a cocktail party at trendy Southampton restaurant Savanna's. Cuomo is married to ABC "Good Morning America" co-anchor Chris Cuomo. How does she feel about being an official "power couple"? "It's hard to feel very powerful when you're always home diapering babies," she laughed. Chris Cuomo had been out fishing all morning, and didn't join her for cocktails. But that was OK. "I consider these events part of my job and I don't make him come with me to work."

Gwyneth shows up au naturale in East Hampton

Gwyneth Paltrow has been working the media circuit all summer in support of 'Iron Man' and other ventures, sporting designer dresses, sky high heels and pin straight hair with some serious eye makeup.

But at the weekend fete celebrating Nick & Toni's restaurant in East Hampton, she went the other route, fresh faced and makeup free with a low ponytail and casual black frock.

Yes, the Hamptons clearly brings out the zen in everyone, even Hollywood starlets.

Katie Couric and Pierce Brosnan, oh Mamma Mia!

"Mamma Mia" opens in theaters nationwide this week.

An advance screening went down at the UA Southampton Cinema on Sunday night, with the after party at Parrish Art Museum. No word on whether or not "Mamma Mia" star Pierce Brosnan lapsed back into his "A Thomas Crown Affair" days and swiped some art.
