Job applicants say the darndest things. Too many have the knack of saying or doing things that question their fitness to work anywhere.
A job candidate told a senior executive he should be hired because he would be a great addition to the company softball team, according to an Accountemps survey of the worst job pitches. Another candidate sang out all her answers during an interview.
“I suppose they are hoping that their sense of reasoning is consistent with everyone else’s,” says Diane Pfadenhauer, president of Employment Practices Advisors in Northport. “Unfortunately it is not.”
